Thank you SE for Hunts.

Despite most of the complaints on these forums, like many I have enjoyed the new Hunts system. How many of you have liked meeting new people through this feature. Whether I join or make a party, playing with others is more sociable now. I like hunting Marks, for me this was needed content and I prefere this to running an Instance. I don't mind doing dungeons now and then but if its all there is then I will lose interest.

However,

Changes are likely to be expected but I would hate for this sort of content to be changed into something else that discouraged what I have just said. Ideas are being thrown about and some are getting lots of favor, so my plead is if your going to change it, please don't make this into 5 min content or triggered by an item.

Just another idea:
Expand on the Mark Bills. Like regular Marks, add more Elite Marks and place them into categories so players choose only one. If successful, players will receive Allied Seals. Once these have been completed, any further attempts will only reward ToM and ToS. Either have no limit to how many can be completed or reduce the time so these can be accepted multiple times in a day.

For example here, each catogory has a number of different Marks to hunt.

Catorgory A:
Bloody Mary - Eastern La Noscea
Kurrea - Mor Dhona
Nuhn - Western La Noscea
Ovjang - Central Thanlan
Stinging Sophie - East Shroud

Reward: ?? Allied Seals

Players can form parties with others who share the same Marks.

That out of the way, the only real unbalanced aspect in Hunts is that the tome rewards nullify all other forms of playing the game. Unless you're in it for the story, there's no reason to even do coil.

Careful, TC. If you enjoy hunts, you'll be labeled a cheating scumbag. And I agree....hopefully they don't change hunts so that they can be popped. All they really need to do is increase the seal gain for dailies, fix weekly...or just not allow people to buy sands/oil through jthe use of allied seals.

I think there's one thing about hunts that we can all agree on: SE made something that nearly everybody who plays FFXIV wants to do.

The Hunt is arguably the most "successful" piece of content ever released for the game.

It's just so sad that the very cause of the problems people have with it is this popularity in and of itself.

It's really great to finally have a reason to see the open world and see actually players moving around.

You know, I agree. Doesn't change the fact that there's problems and tweaks that need to be made to it though (really though, they should do the opposite to better scale the rest of the content, so dungeons give more sol and coil gives more sands/oils). That doesn't mean that all discussion or debates on the topic should go out the window either. I'd also appreciate HP scaling of the monsters. But because the rewards are so great, exponentially greater than other content in game, it is almost game-breaking (ok maybe not game-breaking, but game-disrupting).

But, one shouldn't confuse the fact that its popularity is a result of the content being great and not because its the quickest way to get the rewards either. I think there's lots of potential, I just think the balance needs major tweaking (more than most introduced in this game).
