I find the lack of "role-playing" disturbing.

Yeah, I'm not talking about the game content, but the user generated content.

In my now 120 days or so with FFXIV ARR I've seen one good role player who was acting like the Pope of the Order of the Twelve and he was accompanied by his guards. The other day I've seen a group of role players with their mounts, but maybe the only talked via FC chat or something, wasn't able to follow the story.

I think it is a shame because Eorzea is such a rich and nice environment, and the lore could be used to enable some cool scenes.

So what is your experience with role players on your server? Do you like it, do you engage in role playing from time to time or do you just enjoy what is given to you through quests?

You're on the wrong server. Transfer to Balmung or Gilgamesh.

I believe it was Balmung that is a good place for... roleplaying. Not the kind you're getting at, I might add.

In all seriousness however, I haven't seen any roleplaying on my server (Phoenix). At least not that I know of/can remember. Perhaps what little roleplaying goes on would be in FC chat etc. No idea about other servers of course.

As Eekiki said, you're on the wrong server.

I've only seen one roleplayer on my server, and anyone from Midgardsormr knows who they are. Personally I have no interest in it.

Did you try role-playing on multiple servers before posting this?

Gilgamesh is rich with role-players. I see them all the time. It's not my cup of tea but I understand them as I'm an avid forum role-player.

I know there's at least one Role Playing-Dedicated free company in Adamanoise, but I can't for the life of me remember their name.

The players picked specific servers back before 2.0 launched and those are RP havens. On Balmung I see role players every day.

I saw a couple of role-players on Leviathan once.

Good to know there are still some good people playing on my old server! If people just "decided" on a third server as a roleplaying server, I bet the extreme character creation restriction would ease up on Balmung and Gilgamesh.

I was on Gilgamesh before. It really wasn't as big a roleplay server and some players make it out to be. :(
