What happened to the summer event this year?

Wasn't there supposed to be a summer event happening? I'm confused :confused:

I'm wondering about it too... It will tick me off if they don't have any event to throw up during summer time... We don't have any event since Easter from last April...

SE likes doing its summer events in August.

the game came out 2013 of august so ofc we had no easter event lol.
also the summer event we had in last year began in august or sept? so im sure we'll be gettin'

According to XIVDB, there were yukatas in the game data for 2.3 along with "Moonfire Fair Lanterns," so chances are high we're getting a summer event at some point likely named Moonfire Fair. Sadly, I don't think we're getting a swimsuit event, but yukatas are cooler anyway. And, we got four swimsuits in 2.3.

I did some checking around. 2.3 added new yukata's for males and females with all new quests. Moonfire Faire is what the summer event is. 2013, it took place in september because of launch date. But the 2012 one happened in 1.x and was on July 30th. My guess is, around July 30th this year, the event will begin.

Oooh, ooh! I just did some more checking around XIVDB, and it looks like the 2.3 patch included info on a Moonfire Faire vendor that sells all of the swimsuits and yukatas from previous events! Similar to how you could buy the Easter Egg rings during the recent Easter event where we got hats/barding from doing the quests. If I'm reading this right, the old items are super cheap too. Nifty!
