Steps:
1.I logged back in from before the calamity and went to complete "My Feisty Chocobo" to unlock my companion.
2. The quest is locked, even with all the prereqs. "My Little Chocobo" is in my completed quests and I'm above the required level 30 with a chosen Grand Company. Under where it would tell you the quest requirements is nothing, it's totally blank.
3. I did change my characters name when I first started playing, so I don't know if this is conflicting with it.

Whatever the case, I can't seem to progress in this area of the game until the NPC gives me that particular quest.
