PSN Purchase problem

Hi all, quick question. I had originally bought a PS3 hard copy at release, and registered, blah blah blah. I upgraded to PS4 version this year, and also purchased a PC license on a different service account. On the pc, it was running choppy, had to turn settings down to the lowest, and still have ungodly slow load times and it takes ages for npcs to load. So, in order for my girlfriend and i to play together (purchased pc copy so we could play together), i decided to purchase the digital download on PSN for ps3. There was no registration code or anything emailed to me, just purchased and its downloading now. So my question is, why is there no code? am i going to be able to tie the ps3 license into my SE account still?
