Someone on Reddit thought of another way: Keep S ranks as is but make A and B rank elite marks into a leve/treasure hunt system. Where B is single player and A is group level difficulty. it can potentially make everyone happy... or not.
Or better yet, remove sands/oil completely. The majority of the people who are doing the hunts are for Sands/oil. Some only want to do it for minions or vanity but the Sands/oil grinding people are turning them into elitist assholes. We even made blacklist of people who doesn't wait and hate on an FC. The fact that the vanity armour is much higher than Sands/oil is beyond me.
Trust me, if sands/oil was never involved with the hunt, no one will do it (Well not over 1000)
Maybe make that Hunting Log thing a weekly quest type item?
IE: You can only purchase 1/week for 250 AS.
An 8 man static clearing T9 will net 8 sands/8oils per month (or 1 each / person)
So limiting players to 1 Log / week (however it is obtained) would give any player almost the same monthly upgrade as clearing Second Coils.
The hunt system almost completely replaces every other method of gear/myth/soldiery farming in the game right now, instead of supplementing

Even if you implement an Allied Seal cap people will still zerg A/S ranks for the bloody log drop % chance. Haesel's idea is good so long as they axe the A/S ranks dropping logs entirely and instead implement a random seal drop chance, the books remain capped but the currency to buy them can be un-capped.
Just make sure to increase the S mobs hp 10 times and dmg a bit to make sure ppl are really willing to call as many ppl as possible.
Also the case is lost, because in order to not leave the ppl that didnt grind permanently behind it is necessary to ROLLBACK THE CURRENT GRINDERS, and i doubt se is willing to enrage so many ppl.
