Cake Walk World needs to be Spiced Up
Hi!
I believe than most of the player base will agree on this: once you've reach level 50, the open world feel like a walk in the park on a sunny afternoon.
While it is beautiful and contains tons of interesting NPCS, there is nothing to worry about and everything is too easy.
I believe that adding open world puzzles with variable solutions would help make things more interesting. Since most people follow the roads, use the airships or just teleport, there would be no harm to add puzzles or danger elements at key locations.
- For example, players wanting to access the Castrum around the Eorzea should get the front door combination off guard instead of just walking in. The combination would change once in a while, but there would be various ways of obtaining them: killing guards to get numbers, gathering around the Castrum to find lost combination, stalking guards to infiltrate the Castrum, etc.
[In the story, I always find disappointing that I could walk through Castrum Centri before I even gained access to it with the salute and everything...]
- Another example, how about having bounty hunters from Garlemald show up unexpectedly once in a while? You would have the option of fighting them or running away (if you're caught as a DoL or DoH in the wild for example). It would be like a personal FATE.
- There should be open world traps (at fixed locations as not to be annoying, but still a surprise for first timers)! Either ones that inflict damage or ones that immobilize your characters (then you play a mini-game to get out).
- and more!
