"Melding Materia Muchly" won't let me finish quest

Hello,

This has been reported about a year ago, and to this day the bug has not been fixed.

Time: Any time
Frequency: Always
Character name: Valese Kat
Race: Hyur F
NPC name: Mutamix Bubblypots
Monster name: N/A
Class/Level: Bard/iLv87
Party or solo: Solo
In-game time: At any time
Area and coordinates: Central Thanalan - Black Brush-The Bonfire (23-13)
World: Leviathan

Steps:
I accepted the quest on one of my DoH jobs while several of them were over level 25. I have looked this up on several websites and have found out that accepting the quest after leveling up several DoH jobs over level 25 results in bugging the quest.
