Something needs to be done about Hunts.

So I'm out doing hunts with my Linkshell mates. We find an A rank, I wait for my party to get there, then I pull. The mob dies in about 10 seconds flat. Next thing I know, I'm having profanities shouted at me in /shout. People saying they're blacklisting me and whatnot. All this because I pulled the hunt mark before the entire server got there.

People shouldn't be yelling at other players for pulling the bosses. They should be yelling at SE for giving them only enough HP to last 5 seconds. I shouldn't get yelled at and cursed at for participating in hunts. If the payoff of the system wasn't as good as it is, I'd stop doing them altogether just to avoid getting harassed.

II was just wandering day one, found hellclaw (or something like that) A rank. Sol's about 30% of his hp, got 2 of my ls friends to come out and we killed it. I got marks and seals and whatnot and I haven't even done the hunt quest. Just as people magically started showing up. Did they yell at us? Dunno. I don't pay attention to public chat often. Did it affect me? Nope. Will I be sad if I miss out on one? Nah, it happens.

I don't understand how people find it reasonable to wait for the whole server to get there just so the elite can die in 3~5 seconds and everyone gets 2 seals due to low contribution.

Last night in Mor Dhona there were people yelling at each other in /shout saying they've been sitting around for over 4 hours with their LS and still not a single elite mark kill. That's how crowded the hunts are at the moment. At least on Balmung. This reminds me of notorious monster camping that happened in FFXI. I wasn't a fan of it in FFXI and i'm not a fan of how it's implemented in FFXIV. I think if SE did something like instanced the monsters, or made it into a grouped instance where you have to find the elite marks without knowing exactly where they are and make the fights extremely hard, it might help things. Of course there's many other solutions, I just haven't had time to come up with them. I think how things are now are not good. People on lower population servers are much better off i'm sure though.

It's way crowded on Legacy servers, marks all die in a couple seconds, often you will crash on zoning cause so many people are trying to go to a zone. Too many people trying to do this content.

I wait the global cooldown and animation cycle of my spell/ability to land and claim the mob.
That 2-3 seconds should be enough, I'd think. I mean, what's taking them so long?

Seriously though, not your problem and yes, they need to fix the difficulty level of these things.
They're far too easy and have far too little HP.

Hunts are fine the way they are now, abet a few minor changes.

1.) Add more random B Ranks. Increase full credit Allied Seals to 10.
2.) Increase the HP of A Ranks by 100% and Damage output by 10% and make them wander around some. Increase full credit Allied Seals to 75
3.) Make it so the S Ranks, that once spawned, Walk around the Zone, and Increase S Rank HP by 100% and Damage output by 25%. Increase full credit Allied seals to 175.

With these changes B ranks will be more so for the Solo players, while A ranks will be for the Light to Full Party, and S Ranks for the Alliance.

All the proposed Hp and Dmg changes are rough guesses on what would be a acceptible fix to the problem.

The toxicity of the players is hitting really high levels with these hunts. In one hand, engaging an elite mark on your own and killing it will net you a good chunk of seals and rewards, but you will be deemed a villain and everyone will focus their ire on you. In the other hand, waiting and calling it out spreads the worth too thin, and it just seems to bring an expectation rather than a courtesy.

Everyone is super uptight and paranoid. Wanna see it in action? Get your Magitek Armor with the firing animations and just fire at the elite mark. Someone is going to panic, someone is going to pull it out of reaction, and everyone is gonna tear it down. It's ridiculous what this is doing to people.

I certainly agree that giving it more HP (tons more HP) would help fix some things if you want to spread the rewards around.

I'd just like to point out that this is NOT hunting.

If you want a kill, GO F'ING LOOK FOR IT. If you can't be bothered, you don't deserve a kill, end of story.

(Not 'you' personally, i'm talking about the ones standing around in mor dohna whinging and waiting to teleport)
