New Character or no?
Hello all!!
Havent played for like 4-5 months and was wondering...
with patch 2.3, i dont have lots of stuff done on my main character
Is it wrong to restart over everything and start lvl 1 with a new main class(was dps and wanna tank now)
Also didnt have lots of equipement of allagan or that kind of stuff!!
I know I can play all classes with 1 character but just wondering if thats stupid to restart for the fun of it or not!!
Thank you all!!

Ofc not, you play the game the way you want to!

Based on efficiency time, earning, ect, it's stupid.
Based on reality, if you want to, then it's not stupid, it's what you want. It's stupid to not do what you want in a game. You pay to play to have fun, if you're not having fun, what good is a game!
There's nothing new for starting over, but if you do, then start a class from a different city, since they all have different stories!

Thx you 2 for that!! Just heard that a friend of mine is on a different server and I was alone on the one im on right now!! (dont wanna pay the 25$)
So ill start a class i didnt play a lot and in another main city!!

Wasn't it $18? O_o did it go up?
But yeah, starting a new character isn't *that* bad. It kinda sucks going through the story stuff again and not having the armory bonus and needing to max out GC rank, but I don't regret making an alt and playing her to get around lockouts and stuff.

Starting a new char is a lot easier now than it was at launch. You have daily roulettes and increased dungeon xp to help you along the way, plus for any sub classes you level you also get the first time Guildhest bonuses for each of those as well. Levequests got a bump in the xp they reward as well.
In short, it won't be as painful to level as it was when originally starting the game.

I have eight characters, and of them, four are 50 on a DoW/DoM class, and another is at 47. Honestly, it's not bad at all. Sure, it's more work when you want cross-class skills than leveling everything on a single character, but I find it a lot more fun to switch them up. I think I'd be bored playing ONLY one character all the time no matter what. Running the main story is still pretty quick, so you can get to 50 quite easily without having to worry about nearly as much of the dungeon/fate grind that you hit leveling more classes on the same character. It might be a game that allows for and, to some extent, rewards single-character play, but that doesn't mean it's not fun to have more!

Just do whatever you will enjoy most.
Personally, I have deleted all my characters and started anew in the previous MMOs I have played. Have yet to do that for this game since I am relatively new, but yeah I didn't regret starting anew for those games I played before because I enjoyed the process.
