Want SP? Sidequests give good sp AND interesting lore.

Yoshi-P stated before that progression in FFXIV will be more quest-oriented (or at least he implied it).

I've been giving some a go since 1.18 went live, and I can safely say that sidequests are now an enjoyable way to progress (because they give good sp and decent rewards), not to mention that they give interesting lore, with progressing stories from one sidequest to another, and some are REALLY good! some other hilarious lol.

At the very least, sidequests can hold it for us til 1.19 comes and more content are added ^^.

Do sidequests!

Hopefully they won't be as central part of the game as quests in other MMO's are.

And... Hopefully they figure out a way to make these other activities stand out more.

I'm pretty sure that Grand Companies will do exactly that for sidequests. I noticed the pattern: some sidequests are conveniently placed near/between Grand Companies quests npcs/plot points.

That's neat.

There's quite a lot of stuff coming, but there has to be considering these quests will only be doable once. GC's will probably offer the repeatable content that is needed.

I really loved this patch at first, because I started doing all the GC quests and new sidequests. Then I went and did some leves and saw the reduced SP. Then I noticed some of my equipment was breaking and all my repair materials were worthless. Now I have mixed opinions. But the sidequests and GC were cool. Would love it if they could add enough quests to make it a viable leveling method.

Yeah, and don't forget that they will be adding sidequests in probably every patch too :P

Also, I noticed that one of the quests added in 1.18 is actually a continuation of a story from a sidequest added in 1.17. Liked it :3

Not a fan of Sidequests. Compared to leves pre-patch, the amount of time you spend running all over the place to complete these sidequests somewhat negates their value.

I am getting tired of Square Enix being stingy with the rewards here, no matter what we do.
