Okay, so after a year of fail, I think it's time we get out pitch forks, invade Japan, march on SE's headquarters, and give them a piece of our mind!!!!!
Who's with me??!!?

Then go to japan jail? ya no thanks how about chill too the game goes p2p and if you still around then complain when we paying too then we really can't complain on the patch they releasing. all we can do is help them and tell what what we like but complain without saying what we think is dumb and just trolling.
While I really want this game to succeed and have been waiting checking the forums every day.... I do feel like just giving up and saying enough is enough, Nearly a year has passed and the progress has been minimal. Sure 1.18 is a step in the right direction but it's too little too late we should be strides into the race by now.
I will keep an eye on things and pop on once in awhile but there are many other games coming out which I would rather invest my time into. Sad as I am to say it... you have no idea how badly I wanted this game to succeed...
if you want this game to succeed so badly like you said you would wait. I know i lost hope a lot of times but am still going to be here. I guess that due to me not liking wow-clone or GW2 or any other game that coming out. First mmo i played was FFXI and i guess i can't play anything that does not have that type of feel.
What's this post have to do with the gameplay of FFXIV? And if you really think FFXIV is that bad then just quit. Just don't worry about this game and get on with your life.
I don't care about the bugs (those can be patched next update), I just care about the complete want of direction.
Honestly, the more I see of this update, the more I think it does show us direction, if you know how to look at it. Admittedly, I think they would have been better off waiting another month or so to bundle this update in with the next one (or two) so that the direction could have been clearer, but I can still see the emergence of strategy in the new fighting system. Whether they intended it or not, it starting to feel more like old-school FFXI to me. I'm not trying to suggest that a "sequel to FFXI" is either good or bad, but I'm starting to see the structure for how future parties will form... for good or for bad. Honestly, I'm hopeful, but also very hungry for the next update.Quote:

Honestly, that was unavoidable... from both a programming and managerial perspective. First they had to find out what we wanted to make us happy (using surveys). Then they had to analyze the surveys, come up with a whole new game idea (all or in parts), and then start discussing how they were going to take the existing system and start making it into the new system. Then comes the programming and debugging. For something this big getting that much of a make-over with that much managerial oversight, I'm actually surprised that it's happening this fast. I just hope the programmers are being allowed to go home at night.Quote:
