Titan Egi Tank: Turn 7&8 Worth While?

Was wondering if anyone has tried it. Seems you could bypass some mechanics using Titan. (Brain jack & Voice/Petrify) As well as having even more DDs.

Titan takes dmg like a bitch, it most likely wounldnt work.

Tried it for fun in t7, it's not that bad, aggro is good, the problem is that he takes too much damage(in add phases he could die if healers don't heal him properly) and he's difficult to select

Were you using Titan solo tank?

I was thinking that the Summoner could equip Tank Accessories and then summon Titan. (Then swap back to INT)

As long as you don't use Spur, Titan would have inflated HP (Maybe 12k?) (3k Lustrates and 2.1k Stoneskin mmmm)

Then there would be the issue if the Egi would have enough Enmity Generation still.

Keep a Warrior Off Tank for the Adds (Equipped with DPS accessories + swap off Defiance after add Phase)

E4E and Sustain as Defensive CD's for the Egi.

I think it would be a lot of fun. Might have to give it a go.

I don't know T8 well enough to know how it would turn out.

I imagine the extra people for Towers might be nice as well as Landmines. It'd probably be a good idea to keep a Warrior to pick up Dreads.

Titan wouldn't get brainjacked?

For T8 I'm concerned aggro would be an issue. You'd have to give him a little time to establish and with the dps check this would be difficult to do. Plus how would the clockwork dread get picked up? I think you'd have to have an OT to grab it, which would mean the overall same dps as a traditional attempt and maybe even slightly lower with lack of a Garuda egi dps and her contagion.

T7 would probably be viable but an OT would be needed for adds. And TBH I think it would be easier to heal a player. The MT really doesn't take that much damage if they are avoiding her aoe, which Titan cannot dodge.

Was thinking a PLD in DPS accessories for the Dreads. Since they will have time to swap to Shield Oath before the Tower Pops. Enmity for the Egi might be an issue. Starting with Rouse + Enkindle would ensure full hate, but it'd suck waiting for a CD to start. A rough guess on damage difference between Egi tank and Single Tank.

-30 DPS from Contagion and - 20 DPS between Garuda and Titan Egi and ~Gain of 150 DPS for a PLD in STR accessories mostly in Sword Oath. So ~+100 DPS.
With the possibility of not having Brainjack to deal with (no confirmation yet on if Egi is immune to it)

Main issue probably is dealing with Tank Side Landmines.

Could just have the OT grab landmines on tank side. They should have most their CD up so damage wouldn't be a problem. The main issue would then be how much time to establish solid aggro and if the egi suffers brainjack.

Of course then being able to target and heal the pet is difficult. The group may have to designate one healer to keeping the pet targeted at all times with the Summoner assisting with heals. That would be a dps loss for the Summoner if they had to do that even assuming this would be enough to keep its health up. Could also pose an issue with Allagan field mitigation if both healers cannot put up their buffs on the player.

I don't play healer often, but can't you just click the pet from the Party List? Or does it not show up for other people like it does for Summoner? I could see that being a pain unless the Pet is Focus Targeted.

Other people's pets don't show up on the party list. You cannot tab target them either. To target a pet I have to zoom in my camera on the pet and block all other mobs/players out of my view. I suppose healers could use macros to heal the boss's target.
