Spent over $2,000 for airfare and hotel for my wife and myself but couldn't get a tic

Spent over $2,000 for airfair and hotel for my wife and myself but couldn't get a ticket because of all the lag..... I live in the upper east cost so airfare was expensive. How many more tickets are going to be available? As a paid subscriber of FFXIV since buying the original FFXIV collectors edition (1.0) and paying even since, I feel the tickets should all be reserved for loyal subscribers. Why would someone not playing this game want to go anyway?

Just needed a place to rant, anyone's opinions are welcome. Thank you.

why would you book stuff before you get a ticket?

Eh, you probably should have got the ticket first and then plan the rest of the trip.

Personally, I would have waited till I actually got the tickets for the actual event before placing reservations at hotels and the like.

Why did you not get the tickets first tho

I used kyakk for the Airfare and they recommend to buy or wait airfare and I was looking ages ago at the tickets and it was 300 a person. Now in the past 3 weeks they have recommended to keep buying because they are going to go up and now they are 550 a person and they recommend again. I checked today and they are up to 750. Airfare is the reason I bought everything.

Unless you are flying first class and staying in a suite, I am not sure how you can arrive at a $2,000.00 bill for flights and hotel. Either you are using a travel site that is waaaay expensive or you really like to travel with some class. I found this deal from priceline staying at the MGM with round trip from JFK to LAS for $1,200.00.

On a different note, you should always wait to have the tickets to the convention before booking anything. I really hope you get some tickets in the general sale next week =(
