if I didn't like 2.2 will I like 2.3?

I realize this isn't the best time to ask this, but I can't play atm so what the hell.

I'm feeling bummed about the large gap of progress I need to do for 2.2s content. That and the atma grind has been an inexcusably bad experience.

As far as play style, I'm not exactly hardcore. At least I try not to be with work and sleep.

Will I like 2.3? Or do I need to treat this like a job?

well it depends? what do you expect?

On the plus side, instead of getting atma you now have access to grind leviathan EX for his weapon ... and the new crystal tower and dungeons, myth rate from expert/tower has doubled. (you get 100 per run).

IF you don't like grinds... then MMO's probably arn't for you... this is one of the most casual MMO's out there.

In 2.3 you can get weekly ilevel100 gear without farming tomes.

I dunno what to expect, on one hand many say this is easy. But it all seems unapproachable. 50 HQ items I can't craft reliably...parties demanding experienced clears...playing in silence because everyone's busy or no one is around. I feel like the magic is gone, replaced with drudgery without a point, and sometime with no sense of progress. And I'm EST so that's been an issue lately.

It depends.. There are people who aren't that interesting the having all the latest gear. Sure, they want to do all the content at some point, but they're not going to grind to get there. Recently I helped a friend get his first Titan win (and thus his first relic), and we've been playing since v1.0 early access. I did the grind in this game, and it burned me out. I took a break, came back, and decided to take things slow and just try to have fun.

For everyone's busy or not around: I would change FC, or change servers if nothing happens, get into a LS (you can ask in shout)

For the experience clears: you can setup your own party with party finder, and you can even say that all loot is yours, that you are progressing etc.. those that join u agree to your 'rules' (I know, very silly)

It's not 'easy' but It's doable. I work 60 hours per week, I sleep 21 hours per week (joking) I can devote around 3-4 hours per night (EST) so that's about 15-20 hours for the weekdays unless I'm busy, and I have weekends, when I'm not busy, where I can put 10 hours lets say.

I know the feeling of the 50 HQ items, I will check 2.3 recipe to see what's worth to meld in order to get those, but no rush.

There is about 20+ quest just today to start, that you cannot feel bored. As per catching up, someone mentionned that you can get into syrcus tower to start getting that iLvl100 gear, which is up-to-date with about 80% of the people (RGN here ;) )

It just turns down to: do you like the game enough to get back in and play a job that you like?

It's all about the FUN, not being the number 1 on the server, specially if you don't have the time to invest.

This... You don't have to do/have everything there is to do/have in the game. I've done First Coil but none of the Extreme Primals. I don't plan to upgrade any of my Zenith relic weapons. If something seems frustrating either because it's too difficult or too grindy, I just focus on something else instead.

It's a different patch with different content. Who can possibly say? You're also asking when the patch has been live for only a few hours. Most people haven't even downloaded the patch yet.
