New healer help: Macros

Okay, so I'm a BLM main but am also trying to get PLD and more relevantly WHM (and maybe the Arcanist jobs at a later point). Now I think Healer is probably the most macro-intensive role due to the fact that they have too many targets that need healing as well as the enemies to DPS.

I'm currently a level 15 CNJ but I have a few (probably retardily obvious) questions regarding macros:

• Does the mouseover ones work on names?
• I know that using a certain macros causes attacks to enemies even if you selected an ally (and if vise-versa, heals your allies) I'd want to know what that is (probably the mouseover one) Okay I might be wrong but now I think that <tt> is used in such cases while normal spells are used on the opposite targets. SO there is no "smart-target" think like I thought, the closes would be a macro like Cure <t> > Wait > Stone <tt>
• Do I need special code for to get phrases in your current chat channel? (Party, Alliance and Say) I plan on adding an incantation to Raise and other hopefully seldom used spells I found out that no it dosen't
• Finally this is more DPS related but Is it possible for one macro to set off a chain of attacks (back to relevancy I'll use Aero> Stone > Stone as an example) or is it impossible to prevent botting and force players to practice their rotations? Answer: Yes but it would inherently hinder DPS.

And before anyone asks, yes I know about this thread, I just don't know if people post on it anymore and figured it'd be easier to ask my questions on a new thread.

If anything, SCH has more macro capability. But a Macro for Benediction and maybe Raise can help. But dont use too many. I have a macro on my Benediction that says I used it, and when it's available with a series of /wait 60.0 (/wait has a cap of 60 secs so to fulfill anything more you have to keep adding /waits).

Timed macros like this will cancel if you use another.

Make sure to /macroicon "Name of Ability" so the macro shows the actual cooldown on your bar(s).

For Dps, it's simply Cleric Stance -> Aero -> Aero II -> Fluid Aura -> and then Stone II. Stone I is good to start with since it has a Heavy effect and then you can add your DoTs. After that just spam Stone II and refresh your DoTs. Aero II will be the most annoying since its a slightly longer cast time, not instant like Aero I, and it doesnt stay on as long as Aero.

Just make the best decision for what battle you're in.

Well, most of the whm dont have macros, or only mouseover or the shroud of saints ready advice, sch macro is embrace to all skills, there are post where u can find those and for dpsing the most common is the <tt> so u can target a member and still dps the targets target, u can find a lot of post here

I'm a WHM with only a SwiftRaise macro and I don't think I need more. I'll write a "Ballad Please" macro for emergencies when I log in again but that's it, I find it easier and faster to do everything else manually.

Wow can't believe so few people make use of macros as healers. I have almost everything macroed as both WHM and SCH.

My Heal macro (Cure/Cure II/Regen/Lustrate/Esuna/Leeches/Embrace (replace /ac with /pac) all have similar macros)

This lets me DPS without having to change my target off the tank

I'm on ps4, rather than PC, so it may be a little different for you.

I've found the most helpful macros for healer are doing <t> and <tt> for any action that targets an enemy. That way, you can target the tank for healing and your attack spells will hit whatever he's attacking, but you can also directly target enemies instead. It's a best of both worlds kind of thing. The only tradeoff is you lose the ability to hit the spell a split second before cooldown ends and have it still cast. That and it will put a lot of error messages in your chat log unless you turn those off.

Don't mess around with any <tt> macros on healing, though. They don't work the way you'd hope and you'll end up healing yourself a lot. The mouseover ones sound nice from what I hear (again, I'm on ps4), but outside of that, there aren't any good tricks I've found. You've just got to select the person you want to heal directly and make attack macros.

On Ps4 the <mo> will be who ever you scroll over on the right side using the D Pad

useful for swift raise you wont have to ''target'' the player to raise them

Gamepad controls actually do this by default, you don't have to <mo> or confirm on the target or anything.

On WHM the only macro I use is one to swap to the target of my current target so I can easily swap between the tank/whatever he's attacking. There's really no necessity for them on WHM except for convenience but I like to have manual control of my character as much as possible.
