A simple thought for a sticky to help new players

Since new players wont know what abbreviated words or the "I## class" are would it not be wise to get a round up of what they are and explain what they are so new players who access to look would know for later use. I mean every game has their own special "lingo" and to me it does get annoying looking at some things and wondering what they mean (yes I dont get the I## bit).

I think it would benefit not only the new players but also the long term players so no questions are asked and no explanation would need to be given.

i#, like for example i90, means they are average item level 90 and is a rough idea of how good that person's gear is. The average item level is the number above your character in the equip menu.

Ok that works as for understanding that part so thanks. I was also giving a broad range of things as well so its not going to have to be explained hundreds of times granted users read the forums. Kind of where I was getting is you have the forums for tons of useful and not so useful stuff and to me this could be an updated sticky so players can get acquainted with certain knowledge.

The biggest problem is that the language and terminology are still in development. I've included a link to a more-or-less comprehensive list of terms you'll come across in the game, but understand that players will keep truncating these terms until they're one-syllable grunts (i90 used to be ilvl 90 and I am convinced we will eventually refer to it simply as 90). These terms are also likely to change once new patches hit too. Hopefully this'll give you a jump start in to learning the game. Also, don't be afraid to ask if you're introduced to a new term, because I guarantee someone will always be mutilating a pre-existing term.

While i can understand how useful a lexicon might be for new players, I also know it's a lot of work to compile one, keep it updated, and make it comprehensive enough for new players. You're more than welcome to create and update the thread yourself, but I think all you really need to make is a primer like that above. It's good enough to get started and you can pick up the rest as you level and unlock the features. Most of the abbreviations are intuitive enough.

Good idea but would require lots of info, almost like an encyclopedia, lol
Myself coming into this game i was new to MMo's and had no idea what stuff like mt or ot was or even abbreviations people used for dungeons.
Like WP, AK, etc.

Its a good idea. Maybe not Everything. but maybe where 3-4 replies are dedicated to information. General, class/jobs/craft, Dungeon, and misc. the main stuff could be there and then far fewer questions would be needed :)
