FFXIV Cinematic Intro Fan Sound Redesign

Hello, everyone! I've just finished a sound redesign for a portion of the cinematic intro to FFXIV - all of the music, sound design and voice acting were written, performed and mixed by me (with the exception of the Lalafell and Elezen vocals, which were performed by my wife). Overally it's not too bad, but the voice acting and the mixing with the track requires more work. The intentions of the actors are innatural, and the volume of the grunts is too high in general.

Loved it. Obviously it's not perfect but it's better than the original.

BTW I think the jump>jump>axe from the Roeg should be all covered by a long battle cry.

That was good, some of the effects are really nice. I liked the ice effects in particular. You should make it more punchy and action-movie like. Do you work in the industry?

Thank you for the nice comments! I really appreciate them, as well as the suggestions for improvement.
As to whether I work in the industry, I would have to say no. Technically I am a freelance composer/sound designer and I do work on independent games (some of which have been released for the iPhone/iPad, Windows Phone and PC), but I have never actually worked full time in the video game industry. That said, I would love to, and am actively working toward doing so.
I view working on trailers like this as a step toward that, and a way to improve my skills. So the feedback really is appreciated!
That said, I specifically picked XIV because I love Final Fantasy in general (Nobuo Uematsu's work is the reason I started composing) and wish I had more time to play XIV.

I wish the game was actually like that intro...

I do like the "teamwork" vibe of that scene quite a bit, but as far as the action in it, I'm glad XIV didn't go the fast paced action MMORPG route in-game. For whatever reason those titles just don't appeal to me.

Nice effort.

However, I couldn't get over the fact that the sound was very low quality and actually sounded monaural.

There weren't nearly enough spell/ability sound effects. Very little impact effects.

The music wasn't very Final Fantasy.

Most of the voice overs sounded awkward.

Sorry to be so critical, but I'm afraid I like the original better. Keep working at it!
