I have only recently gotten into PvP and I have to say waiting up to twenty minutes for a match that only last two minutes (sometimes thiry seconds) is pretty stupid, you lose a match and you get twenty exp and marks which is nice because even if you lose you get something but if you win you only get about 100 marks.... one piece in a set costs about 8k.
I'm really hoping frontlines fixes these queue times and rewards because I would really like the sets for vanity reasons and I don't see it being possible with the current system.

As someone who regularly enjoys PvP and is up to rank 26 so far, I can safely say that Wolves' Den is an "as barebones as you can get" afterthought of PvP in this game. I enjoy it well enough, but the structure of matches is problematic.
Sans being revived by your healer(should he ever get the chance), you have one shot to cause chaos and that's it. No do-overs. No underdog coming from behind wins. One shot and you're done. Game over. This makes matches inherently less exciting as there's really never a point where a team can come ahead, thus introducing an extra layer of unpredictability to the mix. Additionally, since there's no time for a team to regroup and think about their strategy, thus coming up with new plans to adapt, most people seem to just either stay silent or rage at each other. Matches should have been time and score-based rather than this former structure to give games real meat. Not to mention the size of the arena, which is this tiny, flat circle with no interesting ways players can interact with it to make games more exciting like elevation having an effect on attacks, etc.
Additionally, having pre-defined team constraints of one melee DPS, one ranged DPS, a tank, and a healer really confound queue times, specifically the last two categories. It's hard enough to get people to queue up in PvE content as a tank or a healer. Do the devs really think that in a setting where player skill above all else is king rather than learning patterns(PvE) more people are gonna want to queue up as those two?
Yoshi P has gone on record saying that he's proud of the PvP to be implemented in the game, and while this was stated before the game's initial launch, I believe he was referring to Frontlines moreso than Wolves' Den. Wolves' Den seems more like a "fuck, we can't get Frontlines out on time and we said there'd be a PvP arena within this partch!" sort of deal.
Hopefully Frontlines will be the PvP we've really been waiting for, and they do enough of an overhall(I believe they said they were planning this) on Wolves' Den to make it really entertaining. It's an "OK" first step into trying to create competent PvP, and while I do enjoy it, it still has glaring issues IMO. -
