Don't give up on beastman coins!

I know YoshiP has been on record there are no current plans to use beastman coins, but i really think they could be the beginning of a great idea. With Beastman strongholds coming out in 1.19, beastman coins could really play a role in us interacting with either NPC's in the strongholds and/or the settlements.

I was doing the Thanalan quests down in Halatali where you have to kill 6 each of the Amajal (sp) and I got 3 darksteel, 2 iron, and 2 bronze beast coins. While they NPC for 2k each for the darksteel, I can't see this being the final destination for these coins.

Mods please try and convince YoshiP to somehow use these beastman coins for perhaps gear or something from an beastman NPC, or at the very least in upgrading a piece of gear, or obtaining a special Beastman materia that gives you "MobX Killer" status. There are a lot of good possibilities here.

The first time I got a beastman coin drop I was expecting it to go into the currency tab instead of the normal inventory. I was hoping they would be similar to FFXI's beastman seals where we could use them to enter special battles.

It would be cool if we could use them as currency as you suggested to purchase stuff from beastmen NPCs.

But at the very least maybe metal crafters will be able melt the coins into a usable crafting metal.

yep! in 11, you could turn 4 silver/mythril/gold beastman coins into ingots. While this would be nice, I would be disappointed if that was it. I'd much rather use them in some sort of dealing with the strongholds. Another thought would be to make a beastman weapon(s) drop from the strongholds, and you have to use the currency to make them usable for players.

But yes....move the coins over to the currency tab!

I don't think they'll forget about beastcoins! I just hope that they do something unique with them, I'd be pissed if it was just crafting materials >:(

I like how mobs from the new bestman encampments still drop these coins even though they may not actually have a use in game. Mixed signals much?
