Bullet Hell + FFXIV = CrystaPachi. An Idea..

This is just another random brainstorm of mine, but I wanted to post it just to see who would be interested. Notice how in alot of bosses, there are some attacks or phases that seem familiar to that of certain bullet Patterns from different BUllet Hell Shoot em ups.

Take Ultima HM with the primals at the beginning. Its similar to the one of the spellcards from the Final Boss of " The Last Comer ", A Touhou Danmakufu script game.
So I've been thinking how cool it would be if we had a DoDonPachi SaiDaiOuJou inspired Shoot em up based on the FFXIV universe. The game would be six stages long, with a final stage being a Boss fight against The Ultima Weapon/Gaius. As a True Final Boss, similar to how we have Hibachi in SDOJ, we could have Lahabrea.

Scoring would be similar to SDOJ as well. You destroy enemies to build up a Chain combo. A gauge on the upper right of the screen would show how much time left you have to destroy another combo to keep the chain going. Each time you add to the chain, the point value of the next enemy kill increases. Should you let the gauge hit zero, the chain will be cut by 15%. Using a Bomb or getting hit with Auto Bomb set on will completely reset the gauge, so for those wanting to score high, don't get hit.

Similar to SDOJ's Hyper System, you can build up an Echo gauge, Up to Level 10. You can then activate the Echo state to get a boost in power based on how high the Hyper level is. In addition, you get a bonus multiplier to your Chain combo boost AND the Chain Gauge is extended, allowing for more time to keep the gauge going.

So.. anyone have any ideas?

I could get behind a FFXIV STG as long as it's NOT like Touhou in any way. If it's along the line of CAVE's and G.rev's work, I would be all over it.


EDIT: I will add this, I would also like to see a FFXIV themed Pachislot game :3

Maybe that would work better as a set of minigames? But still have good rewards for it!! Something to do in your downtime, I guess.

Yeah, I would support that, it was would be cool. Even an unlockable "Garlean Empire" side story, where you play as a Garlean. There are lots of cool things that could be done with this. One thing I love about CAVE games is they come up with cool scoring methods.

Though if we got a pachislot game, I could see the grind being crazy :p

With a Darius style branching path, players can practice discovering scoring routes and what not. At the same time, the traditional TLB requisites will hold true..

Only get hit 3 times, Bomb only twice, collect all 'Moogle-Bee' items in 4 of the six stages. Upon defeating the Ultima Weapon and Gaius, Lahabrea will erupt from the explosion and the TLB will begin. In dedication to CAVE and DoDonPachi, Lahabrea would use similar patterns to SDOJ Hibachi.

If there ends up being a BLACK LABEL, instead of Lahabrea, the game would pull one on the player and instead would erupt...
