Possible Returning Player - Looking for Info and maybe FC

First a little bit about myself. A group of friends and myself started playing in September of last year. We started on the Odin(EU) server despite being in the NA due to character creation restrictions. Played for a few months obtained Relics +1 (believe its called Zenith now) and just stopped playing right before 2.1 was released.

Here's where I stand now. I'd like to be on an North American server and I'm willing to transfer my character over. But I'd like to be with a group of players (preferably a Free Company) who are active and run stuff together on a regular basis. I currently do not have a subscription, but as I said, I'm willing to start up again and even transfer.

Here's a list of must haves:

1. A relatively good sized group. If I remember correctly this game uses a 4 man group system. If all you have is around 5 members at primetime.. well that makes it hard for everyone to get into something. On the opposite side of that.. if you've got 300+ members online at once.. that's chaos! Unless of course you've found a way to bring order to it, then I'm sure we can work something out.

2. Communications. I'm looking for friendships and camaraderie over gear. Hard to get either when all you can do is type. I'd like for some sort of VOIP with a decent codec. This means Mumble or Teamspeak, but not Skype.

3. Player over Gear Attitude. Like I said I'm looking for people to hang out with and have fun with. A casual group with eyes on getting some stuff done together is exactly what I am looking for. Basically good attitudes towards each other and of course no drama.

4. Capability. While my interest is more on the personal side of things. I do understand that gear is needed to get content done. Furthermore I'd like to be apart of a group who is capable of helping players get their relics at the very least. The reason I stopped playing back in December was because I ran out of content to do beyond AK and WP. I'd like to see the stuff after Titan HM.

5. Timezone. Looking for something in the North American timezones. I usually play around 7pm to 11pm EDT. Sometimes later (sometimes more than I'd like to admit lol). But the point is, I don't wish to be on a EU server. Great people, but keeping them up till 6am wasn't working.

Optional stuff:

I'd prefer Mumble or Teamspeak, but I'm not above using Ventrilo. Can't use Skype though, just doesn't come over my speakers well enough to play. You get what you pay for when it comes to VOIP.

Roleplay. I haven't done this on FFXIV, but I have experience (MMOs, Tabletop, ect) with it. Its not a requirement. But if anyone has a FC we're they think I'd fit and they do this, then I'm ok with it. Won't be a game changer for me if you do or don't RP.

Stuff I could do without:

Pretty much the opposite of anything listed in the must haves. Of course everyone thinks they're awesome right? So I'll break it down. Hardcore raiding. I have nothing against you guys that require raid attendances and the like. I've ran similar things back in the day and had alot of fun with it. But that's just not what I am looking for here. I wish you all luck in your progression however.

Well shoot that all seems pretty demanding now doesn't it? That's alright, because I'm bringing stuff to the table myself. Here's a more detailed account of my background and all that I can possibly bring to your group.

I currently have a Blackmage, Whitemage, Dragoon, and Bard to 50. Blackmage is my Relic'd class and the best geared. I do plan on leveling the other classes to 50 at some point in time.

I'm pretty experienced in most of the roles except for tanking. I usually played DPS, Healer, or Interrupter. Though in other MMOs I have experiences in a variety of roles. Now as I've not played since before 2.1 came out. I'll need to get up to speed on the encounters in the extreme primals, hard mode dungeons, and the Crystal Tower stuff. I'm pretty confident I can learn the encounters and won't be too much of a drag once I get into the swing of things.

I'm pretty stubborn when it comes to doing newer content and have no issues running it till we get it right. My only pet peeve is when others give in when I know they can do it.

And finally, its very possible that I won't be coming alone. I have two or three friends that will possibly come over as well. They have similar gear and experiences as I do.

So if I seem like a good fit for your FC, either shoot me a PM or reply here. I currently do not have a subscription as of writing this so I can't see you ingame. I'm sort of weighing my options before diving into a sub again. Hopefully see you in game in the near future.

I could recommend 2 FCs and 1 LS on my server, Leviathan. It's a crowded server so you may have to jump through some hoops by transferring at less crowded times, but it shouldn't pose a problem once you're in. Just be sure to log in and create/transfer around the time of the server updates.

Eidolon Rising is an active FC. There are usually 12 or more members active and at least 8 will be on the Mumble server during prime time. It jumps as high as 27 for large events, such as patch week and some notable weekends. Most members are well geared and skilled enough to help you with anything up to T5 coil and Titan EX, and are willing to help level alts and farm dungeons. It's a pretty close-knit bunch and the raid members are often more than willing to jump in and help you clear lower level content too. As a bonus, the FC is most active between 8pm-1am EDT, easily within your time.

A second FC, Benevolence, started from a linkshell of the same name. It was a group of players set up at launch to help lowbies and new players level, finish story quests and dungeons, get their relics, and progress to endgame. It's grown immensely since then and both the FC and the LS retain their original purpose. I can't speak for the FC as a whole, but the core members at least are immensely helpful and capable and are active within your time slot. Be sure to a solid look at them too.

I can't say if there's a specific rp fc on the server, but Roleplay Reborn is a roleplay LS that's been promoting itself on Leviathan. They hold at least 2 events every week (although minor events appear every day it seems). Joining their events is purely optional, and they are also willing to help clear dungeons, gather tokens, or tackle trials.

Check out the links and try to contact the leaders or recruiters/officers if you decide to login. They can each give you more detail or answer any other questions/concerns you have. If you're not certain about the FC, at least join the two LS. They're both well connected and will help you find a FC that suits you. Welcome back to the game!

First off hopefully welcome back! The game has gotten so much content since you last played, with even more to come! Now I'm not sure if you would find yourself interested but by reading over your post you seem to know what ya want and thats always a good thing! So allow me to invite you to the Famfrit server within the FC OTH. I cannot speak for everyone in the Free Company but I know Myself as well as several others would be more than happy to run dungeons, take on Odin, and just enjoy the game as it was meant to be. Yes we are working on Coil (though I'm not to that point yet..soo close!) but we just enjoy the game really. If your interested feel free to look me up be glad to have you on the server and in the FC if not be glad to just run a dungeon or two with ya!

Thanks for the reply and with your response I was able to find some good information. Though I have further questions. For your FC, Eidolon Rising, do you all have a recruitment post in the forums and/or a website? Also do you all use a VOIP such as Teamspeak or Mumble?

Thanks for the welcome and doubly so for the response. I currently do not have an active subscription so I'm unable to message in game, waiting to decide on a server to move to before investing there. If you could point me towards a recruitment post and/or website, that would be great. And Like I asked Anova, do you guys have a VOIP?

Again thanks to both of you for your response and sorry for the lack of being able to login currently. I'm sort of scouting out the playing field before diving into the sub again. I'm also looking to see if FFXIV is a good fit for the 2-3 others that might come back as well.

Sorry, but we have neither a website nor a forum post. Our recruitment tends to be exclusively through party and linkshell referrals. And I'm sorry if it wasn't clear in my previous post, but we do use a Mumble server.

There's probably 3 ways to get in contact with us. The easiest is probably to message my enjin account and I'll forward you the Mumble information so you can chat and see how you might fit in.

Here is one of our member's twitch streams if you want a look at the FC. I can't say for certain if they will be streaming it on that day, but the group is scheduled to raid coil at Tuesday, 8pm EST. It may be an opportunity for you see the FC in action though, see if it is a good match.

Again the information is greatly appreciated. Going to chat with the others I spoke of in the OP, and see what they think. As I said I just might have about 2 or 3 others coming along for the ride. :)

Just an update, I did end up making the transfer to Leviathan. So hopefully I'll see you guys soon. I did speak with the others about coming and they should be transferring too.

Thanks for the welcome as well. My friends were able to transfer as well and we're getting settled into the new server quite nicely. Server seems to have a monstrous population compared to where we came from last which is great!
