Idea for mounts/companions

I was thinking of having skins for the companion that can match any mount you may have

For example the coeurl could be used in place of the chocobo as a combat companion. I dont think this would be too difficult since most mounts exist in game as enemies and already have animations for combat (coeurl, goobbue, drake, etc etc)

As for bardings i think they should remain chocobo exclusive since itd take much more time to create and animate them for all mounts (even though itd be super awesome to see an armor-clad coeurl or drake). But maybe there could be skin variants for each mount that can be obtained from rare drops from that specific enemy such as the snow goobbue.

So what does everybody think?

I just want the Path Companions from 1.0 to return as proper companions for players to call any time we need them -as much as my chocobo companion has been a lifesaver to me, I miss my bubbly, acid tongued, flirtatious, bisexual miqote GLA companion Imarah and her constant innuendos. ;)

That sounds awesome. Maybe they could make the retainers usable as companions? I Wouldn't mind so long as i'm not stuck using my chocobo (i dont exactly dislike my chocobo i'd just prefer more variety)
