NO NPC has anything for me, as close as i can guess I need to see the serpent officer in old gridania but he has nothing for me...been looking for nect quest chain for 3 days now...I am from gridania originally...completely frustrated...any help would be awesome

You're missing a step - go back to Ul'dah and speak to the PLD Bartholomew who you finished the envoy quest with. He's one of the guards outside the door to the Fragrant Chamber on the Hustings Strip (the upper level of Ul'dah). He should have the next main story quest available for you, called 'Call of the Sea'. This will take you to Limsa Lominsa and ultimately to your first instanced dungeon (Sastasha).
