Changing character name?

Well, i know this can be a bit obvious, but is there a way to change character's name?

No, there isn't. However, the possibility has been raised that future content might allow it. If this is true, it will almost certainly cost real money to do similar to changing your character's race/gender/features with Fantasia.

This is only a rumor. It will never happen by doing so it would make a black list pointless.

there is a slight work around I've been told. create a character with the same name on a different realm and then realm transfer that one to it. It forces you to change your name as it is already being used. I think realm transfers are 18$, might be three days later before you could transfer it back for another $$

They could easily set it up so that the name field isn't the only way your black list identifies someone.

Asheilin has it right. If you want to change your name now, that is the only way to do it. As far as them actually allowing you to change your name in the future, no one knows. If rolling a new character is out of the question, it might be worth $36 to change your name. Alternatively, if you don't care about staying on the same server, you could save money by paying for a one way trip.

Characters have a hidden ID sort of thing attached to them for data purposes instead of just the character name, and it can be used by the game to potentially remember who is on your blacklist even if they change their name. Also when Legacy players got to recreate their characters lodestone had a notice on that player's profile saying what their previous name was, so there is that as well.
