We should have a true housing market

I think this would be a great way to help growing FCs establish themselves. Mine is having a hard time because we don't have a meeting place, which is what the house is. So instead of needing to buy a landplot and then a deed. Why don't we just buy the deed and then have to pay a weekly amount based on interior and exterior furniture. Put it this way it's 450,000 gil for a small building deed and 900,000 gil for the land plot. If it were set up the way I'm suggesting then only the building deed would be required to have a house.

Introducing a weekly fee for the house would cover the remainder of the plot deed, in this case 900,000. To deal with the weekly payment it would be determined by your furniture. The more you have the more you pay, but never more than original cost of the land. Example, let's say the default payment is 100 gil if you have a small house with 150 used furniture spots. Your weekly payment would be 15,000 gil. That would take two months to pay off.

I think this would help out as it's saving the fc money to put towards other things and adds a additional level of leadership to the fc. It would also bring players out of their houses to do fates if the house was still needing to be paid for, thus making areas more populated and not just filled with people atma grinding.

Having a weekly fee may be cheaper, though it would be more difficult to maintain. What happens if your free company can't make the payment that week? what happens to all of the things you worked hard for crafting and working at? That's not fair to free companies who may not be able to make that amount, it's much easier to have a solid payment that they can work towards than have payments to achieve it.
I get what you're saying, there's just a bit risk of abusing the system and what to do with those that do.

I'll admit that this idea isn't fully worked out. But if you don't hit the weekly amount whatever you don't pay carries over to next month. So again using the small house model of needing to pay 900,000 of at a rate of 15,000 over two months. If we paid 400,000 we would be on debt 5,000 gil one month. The next month we needed to hit 500,000 to make up last short comings. We fail to get it, we only got 300,000. So we owe 250,000. But because we ran out of time the house go to auction. All the furniture goes back to owner who bought/made it. Now the fc can bid for there house back to start over. I could see a simple chest system like the fc chest where all members are encouraged to put money in. Then at a predetermined date the money is automatically taken out to avoid missed payments.

This is based off my understanding that the land goes back to a noncommissioned piece of land if there is no activity from the fc after a while. I have been told.
