Suggestion: Crafting Directly from Retainer Storage

This idea comes from Guild Wars 2. In that game, when a player goes into "Crafting Mode", they have access to all items in their inventory as well as all items in their storage locker (in FFXIV, retainers).

I understand this could be easily exploited in the open world. I believe this access would make most sense while in either A) Towns/Sanctuaries with Summoning Bells, B) Residential Districts and, maybe maybe C) All Sanctuaries
(There really should be moogle-mail and summoning bells in all Sanctuaries anyway, imho)

The reason is it is quite cumbersome, especially with cooking, to:

• Open the crafting menu and review what I need.
• Open the retainer menu
• Grab what I need, craft it, put everything away.

It takes almost as many (if not more) button clicks to prepare and put away the ingredients as it does actually crafting. Add to it that many items have the same icon and it just takes a lot of time to craft something that should be very quick.

100% yes! SWTOR does this as well. It automatically takes the items from your inventory and/or bank when starting the synth.

Not too sure how it would be exploited--you can already craft in the field. Overall it's just a quality of life improvement for everyone. I definitely spend more time retainer dancing to get all my materials together than actually crafting. I'm surprised it's not already in the game seeing as how you can search for a material in your retainers through the crafting menu, so the data is accessible without having to "access" the retainer.

I'm hoping this gets implemented when they add the housing workshops. Heck, even if it was added as an in-house feature it would be a welcome addition. :)

This would be an amazing feature and would free up so much inventory space.... I don't put my cooking mats away because it's a pain to get them all out to make anything...

Me, I have so many mats and items that my retainers are overladen and I only have a few spaces on me myself (Not to mention all of my atmas that I still need to get more of) that I would love to just be able to access retainers inventories. Heck, even if it's an item you can just put in FC houses/personal rooms/personal houses that allows you to do this, that would be awesome.

I had an idea like this a while back. It could be called a Retainer Delivery Service, to make it a bit more lore friendly (if that matters). Or maybe Mobile Moogle Mail?

There could even be a fee required to make it into a gil sink. I can't speak for anyone else, but I'd be fine paying let's say 1k per day or week to use it in towns. And maybe 2k to use it out in the field. The fee could be said to cover their travel costs and time to bring your materials to you. I mean, it would save me cash on warping back to the towns.

This would be a great help for Culinarians, and maybe it could be worked in for fishers as well.

when i first started reading about the "service fee", i thought that it was stupid and expensive.thinking about how much i have to travel just fro crafting, paying 1-2k per day that you use it, is way cheaper than teleporting to a sanctuary to do it

I like the crafting in this game, its like a mini game by itself. It's a shame I can't request materials from my own retainers and that they deliver these to me, and that depending on where I am crafting in the world, they appears and deliver them in a few minutes or seconds (dependant on Aetherite access perhaps) and I am charged a teleportation fee maybe? Not sure how many people might agree with this idea too.

Being used to how it worked in gw2 and swtor I definitely hope that FFXIV will pick up on this as well.

I would love such an option, it would allow me to craft what I want whenever and wherever I want. Give me that and a tacklebox for my Fisher and I am happy. :p
