More & more, it seems like every monster I encounter is immune to blind, pacification, stun, and silence. Not even a building immunity, straight IMMUNE. This strikes me as unfair since the number of status aliments enemies inflict on us only continues to grow.

It's common MMO practice for status ailments to be completely useless on anything for which they might be useful. Basically, they are pointless. Devs seem to have a difficult/impossible time designing fights around them. They even had to buff ifrit's immunity to stun (lol).

While this complaint is a bit ridiculous, he made a point, SE gives the bosses 100% resistance, except for certain key effects needed to win certain battles, just to save work time on balancing issues. Yoshi used the balance excuse in the e3 LL a couple times, but when he says "balance" what he's really saying is "limitations", there are ways to balance battles even when you give the players the ability to debuff bosses, but SE just limit our options to turn the battles into mindless dances.
Don't say you can't debuff a boss because this is a MMO or a FF, you can't debuff bosses because this is FFXIV ARR. -
