question about Large/Medium house limitations

I was wondering if the Large houses are so big that they're not decorator friendly (due to item limit), or if the floor space in the Medium will still allow for room of customizing with out clutter, right now we'er in a small and well.......it's small so we would like to get advice on if there is enough floor space for maybe 3 separate themed rooms in the medium or would we need the large.

we know med can have 150 items and large only 200 (will there be a increase of items in the future?)

is the item limit of 200 of a large a issue?

They've already said once they get private rooms and single-player housing implemented, they'll work on it. They need to get the servers beefy enough to get those to work first.

ahh so they'll be adding more space for furnishings in the future for the Large? got a link to this info?

We currently have a medium and I feel with a very slight amount of editing it can be furnished quite nicely without feeling cluttered. It really depends on your idea of decor though. If you want one of everything, a medium house probably won't be big enough. If you just want most furnishings, it works out rather nicely.

well, I wished that there was a official source for a increase in the large house furnishings limit.

They said increasing the amount that FC houses will hold will only delay Private houses, so we know they already have server space set aside for private housing, and SE isn't know for being generous when it comes to putting money into a system that they see as "working," so we get to limp along with what we have and just say it's good enough. I can see after a year or so and the population decreases, then maybe they will up the item restrictions, because that way they can say "look what we did," and not have to spend any money on it, just reuse that newly empty space.

I've seen it on the forums, people said that there would be a increase and there's also people that's said SE can't add space due to server constraints, the reason were wanting to know is we'er in a small and want to know if it's worth getting the large if there is a increase.

Yes, large houses can be quite sparse and feel rather empty as a result if you were to evenly split your items across all three floors, its extremely easy to hit the limit with a large and still feel like you're in a half furnished house.


As for the reasoning for this. Each housing instance, the objects in it, the people in it, the changes made all add up in the end in terms of data and the overall bandwidth used when the housing instances are in use.
Considering the number of houses per server/data centere, that's a lot of data to record so making additional room for ANY data can be expensive, so justifying the cost is important (New servers and or server expansions can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to purchase, setup and maintain)
