How Many Characters Can You Have?

I buy my game time from Gamestop which is 2 months. How many characters can I have. Is it one per world per server, or is it just one per server for no additional cost? I'm so confused. Plz Help

It depends on your subscription. The cheapest one lets you have 1 character per world and 8 characters total. The Standard subscription lets you make up to 8 characters in a single server and allows you up to 40 characters total.

Edit: The FF14 website says that the game time cards give you the Standard subscription for 2 months so you are able to make a max of 8 in a world with up to 40 total.
