need general help please

I cant find any tutorials or walkthrus or much of anything. I can see why people where upset when this game first came out. I like it though its a great looking game, I like it generally, but i have no idea what stats i need to upgrade where to get gear where the quest hubs are etc I did 1 levequest and no i cant find anything i cant craft at all on my pugilist, and no one seems to want to answer a question on the server.

I want to like this game Im just frustrated

There isn't really much in the way of a tut or a walkthrough, unless there's a player made one out there.

You get quests in town, usually at the inn you get to in the beginning. Talk to the NPCs there. There's other NPCs around towns that give quests, I think they have an exclamation mark on the map (I forget though).

To upgrade your gear go to the market districts, you're a little low but you should find stuff there. Or join a LS and hope a mate will make something for you.

Pugs can't craft, only a crafting class can craft.

I recommend reading the adventures logs, they give you lots of helpful information on how to play the game. Also The Lodestone should have some nice info on how to start out on the game. Try clicking this link: http://lodestone.finalfantasyxiv.com/ and then look through the play guide section. It's not easy, but once you get a hang of this game, you will find it's quite enjoyable! especially with the new patch out!

ya i read they had the new patch and the CE was only 25 $ at the store so i figured id check it out. thanks for the input guy =)

My favorite part about square games is the learning curve :P

Learning curve is tough, and sadly tutorials wont be out in time to help you but they are coming. Beat advice I can give is stick to uldah for socializing and buying items, as well as shout for a social linkshell. Linkshells are much more likely to help you than shout questio-s. Keep at it, it all makes sense once you do it yourself.

i thought the rift community was helpful I was totally expecting to get trolled and someone say lawl noob go back to wow or some such. thanks for the input all =)

Couple other things that may be helpful:

At the aetheryte crystals, there something called "The Call of the Adventurer" (or something like that). You can open it up and read what's in there. I remember reading it when I first started playing back at CE release, and found it pretty helpful.

Also Eorzeapedia has a wiki that might help.

And Zam has a "New Player Guide" that might be helpful.
