Dear all Free Companies

Please check for any submitted applications sent to your FC and approve or deny those requests to join your Free Company.

I have been in and out of many FC’s before and I’ve found from experience that no matter what kind of FC it is, they all neglect to look at the applications sent by players willing to join them. Days, weeks go by and the same applications are still clogging the members list of our Company. This is getting ridiculous now.

When someone sends an application, they forfeit the ability to join any other Free Company, they cannot be invited, apply to, or create a FC. They are tied downed by their obligation to the FC they applied for. It is good courtesy to answer back as soon as possible.

If you think they’ve got what it takes to be a member, approve them.
If you think they don’t have what it takes, deny them.

What you shouldn’t do is make them wait forever, before you decide to respond. That is rude and inconsiderate.

It says it as plain as day: "(Person's name) has submitted an application to (Free Company's Name)" at least when you're online, otherwise I guess SE figured people would check the tab :p

You make an FC you know players will have the ability to apply to it. People shouldn't just be taken by the hand through everything. Asking for a notification for something so... easy... is lazy. You have the authority to approve/deny applications? Your responsibility is to check the tab. Easy as that.

Is not been lazy but if I don't know that someone apply I won't check it. We have a site in the comment for people to apply and if someone apply there I can know because the notification. There are some people that use the in-game application and don't even bother to send a /tell or something so that we can know.

So it is lazy not to check the FC application tab every minute?

What does it say, about not bothering to send a /tell to someone from that FC? Especially because most member seeking FCs shout with "please send me a tell"

How often do you guys think FC officials open the FC tab? Let me tell you, when they start a new FC action, and than they need the rights to also accept applications to check that.

As an officer the first thing I do when logging in is check the FC window and see if there is anything new in the activity feed, its plain as day in that.

I'm not even an officer and this is also the first thing I always do (checking which of the fc members are on, if there is anything new and so on)

This is a serious design flaw. People who apply to a FC are really at the mercy of the FC to approve or deny their application before they can do anything regarding another FC?

This needs to be put back into the hands of the player who submitted the application. They should be able to withdraw their application at anytime and be allowed to join or apply or create another FC on their own terms (or maybe even send multiple applications at once). I don't think anything else needs to be done for the FC who has to approve or deny the applications. They can check that tab and do what they want or they should have the option to ignore it completely and not worry about negatively affecting another player by not going through in-game applications.

But I've never submitted and app nor have I ever been a FC leader so I don't know if it really works that way, but if it does, shame on the designer of that system for creating such and awkward dependency.

the OP wasn't 100% accurate, you can withdraw your application.
