Okay, I'm freaking out qq
My significant other is on a class trip to Spain for a week so as usual she's left me to tend the garden on our estate.
Buuuuuuuuuut she's the gardening expert and I forgot to ask about fertilizing >___>;;
Do I HAVE to fertilize crops? Will they die without it?
I'd reeeeaaallly feel bad to ruin her multi-million gil investment (she's going for glazenuts) with a stupid mistake lol

my question wasn't specifically related to glazenuts, just whether or not I HAVE to use fertilizer.
I'm assuming no since none of those results mentioned anything but I want to make SURE with a direct answer from people with experience >.>

Please grab a stack of 99, and fertilize the plants every earth hour. It will not let you over fertilize them. It will give you a message saying they are already sufficiently fertilized. A very quick way to do this is to put the fertilizer in the top left, or first, slot in a tab of your inventory. You then just right click the plant and hit the numberpad 0 key over and over (three times I believe) and it will select the fertilizer and use it automatically.

Fertilizing shaves an hour off the total grow time. You can fertilize once an hour, meaning that if you fertilize the garden religiously you can shave half the grow time off.

no you do not. it only speeds up the time taken to be able to harvest.

1 fertilizer = 1 real-world hour less needed to harvest

Fertilising reduces total growth time by 1h. Tending is what keeps plants alive. You don't have to fertilise but it's strongly recommended (so you can harvest in 5 days instead of 10).

I like how that page doesn't source anything, considering parts of it are literally copy-pasted.

Fertilizer is only used to decrease the time until harvest (optional), you only have to water them

Also I already googled about it so I know what fertilizer does, I just couldn't find a definitive answer. I got the impression that I don't, but I did not want to take risks on this one @__@

She won't have internet where she is going.
And like me she only uses her cellphone for emergencies while at school.
I don't want to bug her while she's in school lol
