PvP Tournament ?
Hi folks,
Since there is no team ranking system in FF XIV for PVP, i woke up this morning with this idea : What about creating a PVP tournament ?
I know there is not that much pvp players, but that could be the good move to make it popular to more players.
The idea would be to register with a premade team of 4, play against the others, earn points and if there is a lot of people participating, why not streaming it/get gifts ? (if there is a lot of people).
If you are interested in this, please tell me and upvote my post.

This'd be interesting. XI had Ballista Tournaments (a long time ago) and it was quite a point of pride (for however long it lasted). I could see this taking off if it's able to stay a regular thing.

would rather see the information and those interested before I create an account, it's a rather vague idea. Good plan and would support but at the moment.. mmm

Hi! Even the thread old and buried, argument is still relevant.
Today our FC will makes his first PvP Season (link).
As first season, the main goal is organize things to make it more automated as possible. To avoid any cheating, it was introduced the concept of "challenge" of submitted entries, to have the tournament self-regulated by its own partecipants.

Not to come and rain on he parade, I would love this, but unfortunately due to the way Wolves' Den matches people, you could only match registered teams of a similar combined rank. This is a problem because it will limit your number of matches unless there is a huge amount of interest.
If you get enough interest, I suppose you could do a prize for teams in a rank range i.e. teams ranked 0-10, 10-20 etc.
Although you may end up getting one person rank 45, for example, teaming up with ranks 1 and 2 to bring the overall average down and get into the lower tiers while having all the skills.
I still think SE should allow custom matches. Set ilvl caps, turn morale on or off, enable PvP skills, damage modifiers, party restrictions (eg the 1 melee and 1 ranged setup), toggling the current job restrictions (such as Cleric Stance and SMN raise).
