Need roll not possible.

I have absolutely no idea of where to post this, so this place seems to be as good as any other.

just did a dungeon and I couldn't roll need on any of the items that I would think I could.

For example, gear that were for Disciple of War, no other class requirement.
2-3 items of that type, and none of them I was able to roll need on, only greed or pass.

as can be seen in the picture, I would think that I should be able to roll need on that shield, but I can't. Only greed and pass.

Does anyone have an idea as to why this it, have I missed something, changed something I shouldn't have?

I believe if it's not class specific you can't need it but neither can anyone else so you're not at a disadvantage. As go higher in level everything pretty much gets class specific and you'll be able to need on gladiator/paladin gear.

It is because of the stats on it Mind, Spell Speed, Int, Determination are caster traits so those are the ones that would be able to roll need. Why would you want that for a tank class? It is clearly a spell caster shield.

The items with no class listed would also go by the stats, if it is heavy on caster stats then those classes can roll need, it the stats are heavy on the war side then those can roll need.

You're a gladiator, a tank, that is a caster shield in the picture. With some of the disciple of war stuff, it's meant for dps DoW not tanks once again, so you can't need on those either. The actual tanking items you can need on.

As others have said, that's a caster shield, no strength on it, patheticaly low block rate and strength, lower vitality compared to tank shields at that level also. You mentioned other gear you could not lot on, check the stats on armour, DPS gear has low defence stats that are equal, DRG gear has lower magic defence than defence. There are some exeptions to this mind.

Tank gear split off at lv15, all DPS gear is still rolled into one set at that level but is still labeleed DoW, most low level or generic caster gear is labelled as all classes.

I believe like the others said the stats are important to casters so while a gld/pld can equip it, they don't "need" it.

I've been leveling a drg and have ran into a few items I can equip but I can't need on, I assume because the stats were vit, parry, ect.

Just because you CAN equip a piece, doesn't mean it's made for you. Tanks CAN equip a lot of lower defense DPS gear, and most caster gear is "all classes"

its the same for the dungeon accessories as well, tanks can only need on hoplite/darklight of fending regardless of the all classes equipment designation. i always thought that was SE way of showing people what gear works best for your role, which seems to have been completely tossed aside with ilvl requirements and people just straping on whatever they can to meet said requirement. been seeing far too many dps and healers using tank accessories just to bypass the ilvl requirement then wonder why the tank dies after not being able to heal and kill mobs properly

It's quite clear the stats are for a caster, I never wrote that I wanted that shield. I wrote that I couldn't roll need on it.

I've always looked at the item before deciding what to roll on it in other games.
So when I see GLA on it, I would assume (wrongly) that as a gladiator I could roll on it.

The same goes for GLA wirh strength and other stats I can use, but it would seem that they are deemed dps stats and as a tank I can therefor not roll on them.
So this then explains why I couldn't roll on any other GLA gear or disciple of war gear since they had a stat on them that is dps and not tank.

That's good to know, but would have been nice if it was made clear to you in game.
Maybe it is, I've just not seen it.

Imo, if it list GLA and PLD they should be able to need it. I'd post it in bug section.
