to SE: Simple fixes that will turn PVP around

I love MMO PvP and always loved to play MMO PvP games , but nothing compares to FFXIV quality in MMO and I really wish they bring those 2 worlds together. I am opening this thread hoping for players who loves to PvP to add "Simple" fixes that they think it will turn around PvP scene in this game to something more enjoyable, anyways here are my suggestions:

1- give permanent buffs similar to echo in any PvP instance, one is massive skill speed increase to lower CDs to 1.8sec or so. this provides more action based PvP while not removing the tactical element. the second buff would be TP regen ,and this is essential to give melees chance to use sprint more often. right now all ranged classes that doesnt use TP will keep using sprint over and over, making it difficult for melees to keep pace.

2- lower CDs of some existing PvP skills in some classes for balance. Purify should also give 5-10sec buff which fully resist any CC.

3- Lower the cost of acquiring PvP gear, the grind is completely off balance when compared to PvE, which drives the players to either win trade or completely forget about PvP rewards.

4- have default setting to enter Frontlines that you can enter during instance similar to the option that needs to be ticked in duty finder now. also at the same time remove points cap in frontlines so matches doesnt end in 4-5min and whoever have most points at end of 30min wins. Now what you have done basically, is you have created a semi-free wold pvp zone, where anyone can jump in any time and grind for gear/tomes there. at the same time, you will assure that this instance is always up and ready to enter rather then waiting 30min for a 4min fight.

5- Add resistance of status effects by default on PvP gear even if we can increase it with materia, this will make pvp gear still viable in frontlines even if it wont give that much advantage.

6- With introduction of Frontlines, Wolves Den system needs some simple tweaks to make it really the " hardcore zone" for pvp players. Essentially you would need to add rounds to the match so that each match consist of 5 rounds where skills get reset and you spawn back in the entrance. you can still have a cap limit time for a match where in 15min the group still havent completed 5 matches wins based on accumulated points. this also mean the wolf mark and pvp exp rewards should be increased due to 5 rounds, ie 5x the wolf marks and 5x the pvp exp.

7- add Leaderboard in Lodestone for TOP PVPers , the classifications and details would need to be carefully choose so the board really reflect the ranking.

8- to deal with win trading, have less wolf mark given each time you kill the same player gradually.

1 - By charge i assume you mean sprint, melee classes can easily sprint and have tp via the use of icarus wings

2 - Purify has a huge cooldown for a good reason, it gets rid of EVERY debuff on you, letting healers be able to use this on the same frequency as swiftcast is pretty dumb and pretty much removes most of what melee dps can offer when trying to lock down a healer and kill them. (take into account that cc skills only apply thier full effects on the 1st, 5th, 9th, 13th, etc applications, you are basically letting us negate the majority of those full applications (if not all of them entirely)

Some of the pvp skills could be put on lower cooldown i guess, for healers i would say that touching attunement and divine breath (the instant revive) would be pretty bad, an instant no mana revive that doesnt apply weakness and heals the target to half hp/mp/tp is pretty amazing already, don't it a 90 second cooldown, sacred prism shouldnt be touched either but its very easy to push enemies out of its aoe

3 - yes

4 - I think that everyone gets the same amount of tomes, regardless of match time in frontlines, so removing the points cap seems pointless as it only increases the grind

also 1000 points will take some time to get to, 1 point for a kill and it looks like 2 points every 3 seconds for a capture point in the e3 video, so thats around 40 points/min per capture point (a maximum of 120 points/min if you have all 3 capture points, ignoring kill points and monster points)

5 - interesting idea, might be cool

6 - yes

7 - easily abused by win traders imo

you brought up very valid points which made me re-think some new stuff :

2- I think then adding 10 sec buff after purify that gives you 100% resist sleep, stun, CC might be the valid method. this essentially remove the abuse of applying CC just after purify immediately.

7- I think if they add up a system where you get lower wolf marks the more times you kill the same player in wolves den might fix the abuse. also I did mention it needs to be looked carefully so the board doesn't become meaningless , I wish i have prefect solution but it is imo important to have. especially for people who already got the gear, at least they get another objective to be in the board etc. on top of that receiving special title whenever they are top 10 , top 100 etc.

last on number 1, I think in short term fight you are right, but if the fight drags on, it gets annoying not to have TP after i use all TP regen moves, keep the chase over and over for classes that have same CD as sprint as melees yet they dont use TP imo needs to be fixed.

I personally like if there was a zone we could go to where we would toggle being in PVP mode or not..then again. That might be a bad idea and a lot of harassment could occur..never mind about that idea..

This is already in the game in the form of the re-stack reduction, 50% duration of cc on the 2nd application, 25% on the third, 0% on the 4th

If anything thats giving healers 10 seconds extra of stun-free stoneskin stacking while at the same time giving almost no buff to melee dps. At the moment you just sleep a dps, wait for him to pop purify and then you just swift cast sleep on him again, the only difference here is 10 seconds before the healer reapplies the sleep

All it serves is that it will require slightly more knowledge of the mechanics of pvp skills to get around and nothing more, i'm not really sure that will help new players get into pvp by adding more stuff that they dont initially understand

This would have the side effect of nerfing rewards in actual scrims and during times where not alot of people are queuing so you fight the same people frequently, it would help win traders though

Everything other than this first point was good.

Giving perma buffs to such as the one you just mentioned is atrocious.. MNK's and BRD's good at remaining locked onto their target giving a skillspeed boost, ultimately knocking down their GCD below 1.8 etc. If you wish for this to happen you best make sure SE takes physical attack damage from interrupting a caster "heal or damage based." You want tp, spec into enliven, get a tp pot, use weapon throw also use invigorate.

Other than that you made some solid points.

I would personally love "leaderboards" "Data Center" & Server Bound Ranking.
