Has anyone else noticed a performance boost with 1.18?
My older machine went from barely playable at minimum settings, to working fairly well at decent settings (I can read character names now). My new machine saw a smaller increase, and isn't running the gpu fan all the time now.
Anyone else?
ya i thought so too, i think the draw distance is larger now
Draw distance does seem increased, but I don't have any hard data to back that up. Performance however is improved. I am now getting 60fps consistently outside of the cities, and getting 10fps higher in city than I was before. This is on a i5 w/ GTX460 setup. I still peak on my GPU temp at the same as before, but in average I'm running 5-7 degrees cooler than pre-patch.
I've had the opposite effect, with FPS being a bit lower, and some pretty heavy screen tearing. I didn't see any changes in the settings, still trying to find the cause.
I also experienced the opposite effect on my system. After 1.18 I logged on and the stutter was so severe I had to lower several of my settings that were working fine before the update. :c
