Suggestion: Limit sig blocks to text

Or

1. remove the ability to link .gif pictures.
2. limit the size of allowed static pictures.

There are a lot of extremely obnoxious signature pictures out there, most of which are massive and (in a lot cases) a lot larger than the posts they are attached to.

I agree that there does need to be restrictions on sigs to only static images - some of those animated gif sigs some people have really lag forum pages down when they're trying to load - not all of us have super fast (or reliable) internet sadly.

I disagree with only allowing sigs to be text however (my own 1.0-themed sig is quite small in size and doesn't waste much bandwith). Ultimately it's SE's decision though.

Animated sigs are fun. No thanks.

Gonna continue to push this up as, looking down the suggestion titles, it's the only thread that belongs here.

I actually find it funny. i like to see something cute, funny, or obscene. If it pulls you away from what the thread is discussing there might be some underlying ADD issues on the player part.
