New Class: Entertainer

First Thoughts on making a new Class and Suggestions will be Welcome. (Constructive Critisms are always welcome, opinions too just.. keep it Civil).

Class: Entertainer
Lead-off Jobs: Puppetmaster, Dancer
Role: DPS/Support

Backstory: I'm Thinking that they will not be a "Formal" Guild and that they won't have a single Base/HQ, since no-one "minds" the Entertainment i also suspect they will have some small part to do with Espionage and Political intrigue.

Abilities: Entertainer will be a Pet Class. They will use Mammets too help buff there own Damage and Survivability, They will have afew Mid range (7-10 Yalms) and Close Range (Melee) abilities. Most of there Damage will be Physical (Blunt/Slashing) with some Status Effects.

Flourish: A Elebrate swing that strikes the opponent without them Noticing.
Potency: 100
TP: 60 (Low Emnity).
Spin: You preform a Large Spin Attack that Dazes your Opponents.
Potency: 100
TP: 120 (Low Emnity)
Additional Effect: Stun 3s
Summon 1: Summons a One-Man Band Mammet, that Buffs your Damage output.
MP Cost: 10% MP
Summon 2: Summons a "Straight Man" Mammet that Debuffs your Opponents with Curses and Insults
MP Cost: 10% MP

What if the Entertainer's guild was a traveling troupe caravan that went to a different city/settlement after every quest you complete? :D

That's What i was Thinking, And they'd Either Tell you where next once you've Finished your Last one OR with the Moogle Mail once you Reach the Approiate Level for it.

Could have it attached to the new Frontlines as well. Perhaps they go to whichever town's GC has a higher ranking in PvP? Similar to how the dancing troupe in XI would go to whichever town was first in Conquest.

What weapon type would they use? PUP has used black magic/dolls/axes/hammers/hand-to-hand/megaphones. DNC used geomancy/daggers/hand-to-hand/sword/throwing/rods/staves/poles/cloth/bows/harps/whips.

Black magic/axes/hand-to-hand/daggers/sword/rods/staves/bows/harps are technically all already taken. So we have hammers/megaphones/geomancy/throwing/poles/cloth/whips remaining. Or something entirely new?

Weapons I'm thinking Cloth Main-hand and Throwing Off-hand, Based on the Idea that they are largely based on distraction and flair a long piece of Cloth can be used too hide the actual attack (Similar too how some Martial Arts use them, The Flowing cloth distracts from the Actual Movements they are Performing) and the Throwing weapon/s so they can strike their Targets from Distance (Short Distance, but still)

Alternatively i could see them using a Ribbon and Poach of Pyrotechnics as weapons, The Ribbon would be like a Gymnast's ribbon and would be used for the same purpose as a Piece of cloth. The Pyrotechnics could add into some of their actual moves aswell... Hmm.
If i went with the Ribbon and Pyrotechnics then that could be used too inform the Weapons of the Jobs... Ribbon Becoming a Whip for Puppetmaster (Don't think it should though, Would prefer something like an Alchemical/Magitech Gauntlet for PUP), and Cloth for Dancer.

Unfortunately we won't be seeing any off-hand mechanics. Yoshi just said at E3 that he didn't want to do that for Ninja because it would be unfair to Ninja to have to gear an additional slot.

Pyrotechnics could potentially work as an all-new weapon type. Would be interesting to see at any rate. Perhaps Temari could be neat application for them. They're two balls attached to the wrist. Perhaps they could hold powders inside them for ranged attacks and throw them in like bombs with skills while being able to be up in melee range for other/basic attacks.

First off, see here: Performer (PFM)

Second, a weapon you could do that might fit for both a Dancer and Puppetmaster (and an Entertainer in general) would be a battle fan type weapon, rather than cloth ribbons or something else that really wouldn't work as a weapon.

Third, I'm honestly not sure how good of an idea it would be to have both jobs of a class fill the exact same role. If we were to take the Arcanist/Summoner/Scholar situation as a standard (one class leading into one that fills the same role and another that fills a different role), then you'd need different roles for everything. Given the options, Puppetmaster would probably be the better DPS, while Dancer could be a dodge tank or something (which is probably not a good idea in the first place, as dodge tanking is unreliable).

I think the pets could work for both IF you made them radically different like Summoner and Scholar. Maybe Puppetmaster can focus more on DPS while Dancer can be more of a support-based DPS like Bard? Or maybe Dancer could be the opposite and be a debuffing class? Or maybe Puppetmaster can focus more on using and supporting the pets while Dancer focuses more on the melee, with pets supporting them?
Just spouting ideas.

Good point. Usually (not always) when BRD and DNC appear together one is a buffer and the other is a debuffer. So DNC in XIV could hypothetically be a debuffer. This would free PUP up to be a full on DPS of sorts or perhaps even explore the healing option that it had in XI. Only problem then would be making it unique from SCH. Perhaps PUP tank! Using flashy bombs/fireworks and a loud mechanical pet to attract a monsters attention. Could be interesting.

For the Jobs i Was Thinking of Healer and Tank.. But DPS/Debuffer and Tank Might be a Better idea (Writing a Class that can Both Heal and Tank might be abit Awkward Since making it Competant at both would Mean it's Either overpowered/Imbalanced or Too Weak at either).

For the Pets when it Becomes a Puppetmaster I Was Thinking on How too make it interesting... Here's what i got:
Summon 1: Buffer Pet, Increases your Defense With Buffs while it is Active, the Buffs ONLY work on the Puppetmaster, They Would have a Significant Timer/Length say 5 minutes with a 8 minute Recast or so Forcing the Puppetmaster too Switch Pets (Hear me out on this) The 4 Abilities would be a Basic Attack (Ranged/Slashing Probably a Chained Blade), A Buff that increases the PUP's Physical Defense, A Buff that increases the PUP's Magic Defense and Finally a Stoneskin/Galvanise Effect that is for the PUP's Maximum Health Pool. Useing that Last ability will "Overload" the Mammet/Puppet and cause all their Cooldowns too Activate (The Puppet's Not the Puppetmaster) But Will allow the Use off the PUP's First Job ability Which will be a "Switch" Swapping the Puppet over too it's Second Form (Essentially Switching Summons with one ability).

Summon 2: The Tanky Pet, This version of the Pet will Have a Melee attack, A Damage Attack which Aggro's, and a Defense increasing Ability (For Itself only, Buffing Both Physical and Magic) and a Large Attack that'll Do Alot of Damage but Again will "Overload" it for a Period (Thinking 3-5 Minutes of Overload should be more then Enough, More then that and it's Too long too be able too React Quickly if need be) This Last Ability will again Allow the Activation of the PUP's First Ability and Swap Pets again, I Would say this one will Also/Should Also Include an Aggro Dump so that the PUP can Pick the Aggro up off of it Straight away.

Other Thing i would say is that the PUP Shoul be able too have Both Pets out at the Same Time... But only one of them is "Active" at any one time. Their first Class ability would be "Commutateur" (French for Switch) that would Instantly Activate the other Puppet calling it up front.
What do you Guys Think? Too Annoying or Awkward?

Also I Like the Idea of the Temari as the Weapons, Actually Fits quite well with the Idea of them being Flashy but Ignorable, the Temari look like something that could be used too hide stuff in and get into and out of Places largly unmolested.
