World's closed.

Trying to make an alt on my world, balmung, but it's. Closed at he moment. How often does it open up? Or do I have to just keep randomly trying?

Balmung rarely opens up, just got to keep trying random times. Being early in the morning doesn't help much either, just have to be lucky.

It's sometimes open at late night or early morning. Try then

I see threads frequently about people trying to get into Balmung, or disappointed that they had to wait or start somewhere else. Is this not a sign that people WANT a designated RP server or two. Say what you will about segregation, but it's the best way to quantify our enjoyment, with others like us. We're already ... ahem ... ENCOURAGED to do randomized gameplay through DF and DR. People just want to play with like minded players without ridicule.

Of course I could be way off base, and the OP just has some friends on Balmung XD

Even if you're "lucky" enough to get onto a crowded server, doesn't that mean you have to put up with queue times to try and log in? I'm not really sure how it works.

You could refresh it every few minutes, even seconds, and see if it becomes available briefly. I did that on Moogle when it was locked but it depends on how full your realm is.

I was able to make 2 characters on there in the early morning hours or late at night passed midnight. Tends to be open when most people are in bed or at work. Good Luck! ^_^b

I was able to make my alt at around 7AM est

Thankfully I got into Balmung during open Beta, so it hadn't closed off like this yet haha... But yeah, it's insane, one of my friends tried for 2 1/2 weeks before finally getting in

Just because a world if full doesn't mean the world is FULL. They close down certain servers at certain times of days to get people to make characters on other servers. I'm on Gilgamesh and never get queues to log in.

Yeah, character creation is only closed at certain times becuase the server is currently super congested, which is a near constant on Balmung. I've only seen it directly open from 3AM to 8AM, so EARLY morning.
