My Relic Quest Resetted!?! Please Help

Hello,
I was working on getting my first relic quest completed, spent all my gil trying to start off the base weapon and materia, and got up to the final titan hard mode.
Went to work, the next day the whole quest was erased when I logged on and I have no progress at all. I wouldn't be really mad, but I went to start it again and realized I have to get the sword and material all over again. Did it have something to do with the last maintenance period.
Please help somebody, im crying inside really.

Are you sure you didn't accidentally abandon the quest? Abandoning it erases all progress, including the materia enhanced weapon.

Yeah, I read that, I didn't I swear, just logged out went to work my grave yard shift and came back online the next day and all the progress was gone. I just got done finishing garuda hard mode. Titan was the next step on the journal log. Im really stuck getting mad at a wall. Love this game, first mmo that my friends talked me into trying out, but this is really harping on my experience./
