Repair service price for players

Today I just found out that people still have no clue about how much of dark matter cost is. So some of people just set the repair price for their item for rank 5 gear just 5000 gil ( cost of darkmatter grade 5 = 4500 )

So I make this thread to ask you guys ( both crafter and DoW/DoM ) that what is the reasonable price for repairing item in each grade.

Here's some of my idea. Note : DM = Dark Matter

DM Grade 1 = 100 gil / Repair service = 200-500 gil
DM Grade 2 = 600 gil / Repair service = 1000-2000 gil
DM Grade 3 = 1500 gil / repair service = 2000-3000 gil
DM Grade 4 = 2800 gil / repair service = 3500-4000 gil
DM Grade 5 = 4500 gil / repair service = 6000-10000 gil

Because all DoH use lot of money and effort to train skill, so I think for higher grade, the higher price is lot reasonable.

What do you think?

i pay 3-5k for 30-50 stuff so ya now with the grade thing i think i pay the same amount and now maybe even less due to leve giving noting for gil

anyways crafting repair are not a way to make big money lol it's just like teleport in ffxi was just a way to make a small profit for something easy.

1k per 10 ranks, fair enough. Covers cost of NPC Dark Matter (though plenty can be gained in other ways) + a little tip.

01-10: DM Grade 1 = 100 gil , list @ 1000 = 900 profit
11-20: DM Grade 2 = 600 gil, list @ 2000 = 1400 profit
21-30: DM Grade 3 = 1500 gil, list @ 3000 = 1500 profit
31-40: DM Grade 4 = 2800 gil, list @ 4000 = 1200 profit
41-50: DM Grade 5 = 4500 gil, list @ 5000 = 500 Profit

Looking at the clock now, the patch as been live for about 13 hours. Shame on those that didn't immediately seek out that NPC vendor to find how much Dark Matter is! No cookie for you >.>

More seriously though, a question to the craft / repair community: Do you feel that having the appropriate Dark Matter as the reward for the repair is acceptable or will gil still be the way to go?

yeah, i saw many people offer dark matter as a price they pay, it good tho since crafter still get xp from fixing stuffs

10k if you dont have the mat, 5-7k if you do.

In most games If the user is requesting something outside of market production "Custom crafts etc" it is normally automatically assumed the player will either give the mats, or cover the cost of the mats at face value. + 10%

Some community's in some games try and dictate a little more like 15%.

That would put 5000 at about right for a Grade 5 repair.

I don't think paying someone 10k to repair your gear with a 4500 repair item when its 100% chance to not fail and a slight chance that the mat wont be expended when completed is fair to the Customer.


That is like going to a Mechanic. Having them give you a ballpark quote of 10k to repair your engine because they have to replace the motor. Them finding out the motor is fine and just needed some grease cleaned out. Then still charging you the 10k even though they never installed the new motor.

I don't bother repairing anything for strangers unless they list the price at a 2k profit (based on vendor price) as a minimum. It's not worth the effort to switch my class if I'm not even going to get that little out of it. Levelling crafting should serve some kind of purpose. If people aren't going to level up a crafting class that can repair their stuff, they should reward others who did.

On the other hand, if someone gave me the correct grade of Dark Matter and asked me to do a repair, I'd do it for free.

I am prefer this calculation more: 1k/grade

DM Grade 1 = 100 gil / Repair service = 1000 gil = 1100 gil
DM Grade 2 = 600 gil / Repair service = 2000 gil = 2600 gil
DM Grade 3 = 1500 gil / repair service = 3000 gil = 4500 gil
DM Grade 4 = 2800 gil / repair service = 4000 gil = 6800 gil
DM Grade 5 = 4500 gil / repair service = 5000 gil = 9500 gil

for ppl dont have DM with em else it ll be the same repair cost and you all should not complain and the sp for repair is not a excuse either, if you dont want to pay to much for repair simply lvl your owm DoH or use NPC or ask for mates to fix gear for you

Generally before I would rarely stop to repair something if it was under 1000.

Now I haven't decided just yet. I'd still want 1000 min (because I'm still stopping, maybe switching classes/etc) but until I start getting piles of dark matter from gathering I think at least 1k above NPC price is fair enough.

The only thing that bothers me is all the people I'm seeing put up their stuff for repair for 1 gil. It already happened a lot before, but every single person I checked so far today had 1gil. I wish there was some way to weed them out so that I can see before I stop and check them that it's not worth it.
Not that something like that should take priority. It's just annoying.
