Yoshi reveals FFXIV for Mac in Development (?)

There was a short article on E3 coverage from pocket-lint.com that mainly talked about the ongoing discussions with Microsoft to bring XIV to Xbox One. But at the end of the article was this statement:

More immediate in Square Enix's plans is a version for Apple Macs. Yoshida revealed to us that a Mac Final Fantasy XIV is in development. Also, one that works with DirectX 11 and Direct X12.

I hadn't seen it mentioned anywhere else, I'm guessing because it seemed like less of a big announcement and more like something mentioned on the side in another conversation. I think this would be exciting news for a lot of people, but I find it odd that the information hasn't been covered anywhere else.

That would be fantastic. The steam in-house streaming thing from my PC isn't working out too well (although it's still in beta).
