I was under the impression that you would not be able to join multiple grand companies, but I've been hearing reports that you can?
Can you join multiple grand companies?
Are the quests similar/same and are the items the same from the seal vendors?

You can join as a recruit to all three. But to advance beyond recruit you need to dedicate yourself to one company only. But that won't happen till 1.19 anyways.
Yea, like Aaros said. I checked out Ul'dah & Grid so far. Starter quests were pretty similar. Most or all of the regular items are the same, but the gear is different. Ul'dah had swords & bows, Grid had H2H & wands/staves for CON.
That is absolutely ... meh.. and very crappy about the gear if it carries over to 1.19 and were locked into one company.
I picked Gridania because I wanted to play an archer main, so why would they link archer to UL?
I'd be fine if each one had a different visual or even stats for all classes, but forcing everyone who's an archer to go this and pug to go that? just seems a bit odd..
And what about people who have 2 R50s that need different city's?
Well I think they're trying to get you out of the cities you've been stuck in for a while. It is lame I think if it takes you to Uldah. But for the most part they tried to put Uldahs classes in LL and Grid, and Grids classes and LL and Uldah, and LLs classes in Grid and Uldah. For I think it should of been, different flare of gear but similar gear for all three, so if you like merlwyb but your a mage you could get mage gear from LL, or Uldah or Grid, or dd gear or w/e. Just give one epic weapon per 10 or so levels, and some epic gear for all disciples with different flares and colors for the three nations. The coatee from Grid is cool, but its still a coatee, so in the future I'd like to see the Grand Comapinies get "city-state" gear.
