Forum Function Suggestion

I had half a mind to post this in the General Discussion section of the forums. Then the other half of my mind called myself a moron and searched this place out... thankfully.

Would it be possible to add a feature/function under the Thread Tools drop down box that could temporarily lock a thread; by popular vote of course, for moderator review? For instance, another marriage thread has popped up and they tend to get a little heated and WAY OFF topic. Say a percentage; or some other variable, of a sub forums frequenters vote to have it locked for review, vote passes, thread locks.. pending review. Might help take a load off of Moderators, but could also lead to abuse.

Anyway, just a thought I had. Dunno if it's good or not.
