I wanted to post a warning since SE seems to be ignoring this issue so far.
Placing items outdoors will cause all housing features to be locked, even entering the house. In most cases Ive noticed it seems to be after placing the Aetheryte. Also, this is unconfirmed but it may only cause issues for those that bought a house after the patch. Personally i wouldn't risk it at the moment until that's confirmed.
