Nobuo Uematsu
Can we get him back? T_T
I was blown away by 1.0 sound track.
by 2.0 i start to close by BGM. What ever the reviews say how good was the bgm.. is bullsh1t.
As a FF fan myself, Nobuo Uematsu is the background sound of Final Fantasy.
1.0's downfall has nothing to do with the BGM.
Please get Nobuo Uematsu back into Final Fantasy ARR

There where a few nice tracks in 1.0 thats for sure. But the Soken Music is so much better.
Uematsu is so overrated.
-
I beg to differ, while Nobuo Uematsu is indeed a legend, I have not found anything to dislike from Soken's works.
-
Meh, I actually prefer the current soundtrack. A lot of the 1.0 just didn't fit imho.
-
In honesty, I want them both. ;) While some of the songs from 1.0 were exceptionally mood appropriate and defined XIV (On windy meadows was my personal favourite), others were a bit bland. Much of ARR's music has a perfect match with the environment (Thanalan in particular), and is hauntingly atmospheric. Althoug short in duration...
So yes, I want them both.

Opinions are like assholes..everyone has one.
I like both soundtracks. Nobuo not working on ARR has nothing to do with 1.0's failure. They've already said in other interviews that they will probably collaborate with him for some music in the future. Usually that means a major title track, like the opening theme for the upcoming expansion or something.

By the way, was Answers by Uematsu's design? Because that song stands to me as gaming's most memorable song, especially after the excellent merge with the End of an Era video.
-
I like both very much. Uematsu is ofc the first name that pops into my head when I hear a classic Final Fantasy tune, but Soken does also an amazing job on making the songs sound like true FF music.
I would love to hear more work from both composers imo :)

I love the 2.0 music, actually. My only issue is that every track is so short. I hate the silence that follows a 30s music track when I enter an aetheryte camp or a dungeon.

I usually have my own music playing, but every now and then...perf :)
