An error has occurred. (40000)4

does anyone have any clue how to fix this? it happens after i select character and has been happening for 2 hours and friends say my character name pops up as online even when my client is closed

Check the lodestone, FFxiv is having server issues. I suggest just trying tomorrow.

yea ive looked around loadstone and i just figured its server congestion, but thanks for the quick reply

Check your game folder, i found that i had a ffxivgame.exe.temp file in the folder, i deleted the old ffxivgame.exe and renamed the temp one to replace it, doing this fixed the 400000 error and i was able to play

hope this helps

PS. im guessing that the updater didnt replace the old game exe with the new one, but doing so manually seems to work
