Problem with cooldown skills now.

Thread Title:
Upon hitting on cooldown skills, it is almost certain that the next skill will be that skill.

Frequency:
Always (Can 100% reproduce)

Class/Level:
Any class, tried ALL my classes and ALL have this problem.

Party or Solo:
Party AND Solo

Steps:
Using Black Mage as an example.

Scenario 1
1: Cast Fire III
2: Almost immediately, hit Transpose.
3: Wait for Fire III to be casted
4: Transpose goes off.

Scenario 2
1: Cast Fire III
2: Almost immediately, hit Transpose.
3: Almost immediately again, Spam click FIRE 1
4: Transpose still goes off

Scenario 3
1: Cast Fire III
2: Almost immediately, hit Transpose.
3: Almost immediately again, Spam click on another cooldown (Manaward or Manawall)
4: Transpose still goes off first.


Well, I don't know if this is working as intended because I was able to cancel my queued CD if I accidentally click on it in the past. Now I can't, if I accidentally click on anything, it will definitely go off. (I had Fire III then Transpose, leaving me without any MP because Transpose effect comes before Fire III's Astral Fire kicks in.)

In short: Once you queue a CD skill, you cannot cancel it no matter what.

I was unaware skills could actually be put in a queue. As far as i'm aware, the only instance where this could happen is due to skill delay or latency.

For instance, despite you seeing yourself cast an ability, what actually takes place at that time on the server differs from it. The case where you click Transpose after Fire III, but as far as the server is concerned you're still mid-cast of Fire III and your Transpose order does not go through (delayed) till after the Fire III ended on the server. Or visaversa. The cast already ended and transpose went off for the server, but for you your casting animation has yet to end and transpose doesnt happen till after that.

I could be wrong, honestly i could be, but i've been playing BLM for most of the game now and i've never had any of my spells or skills "queue up" so to speak. If i mash my transpose during casting, nothing happens. It's only till after i finish casting that i can use Transpose (it'll be greyed out). Maybe you're breaking something by pressing them together, or very quickly after one another before the server can lock it for the remainder of your cast?

Not really, every CD is like that now, I can queue my CD WAY WAY WAY ahead of time, this is not the case for any other attack skills, just CD skills. I have video to show it too.. This only happens in this patch and not previous patch.

I play bard with a game pad, and I've noticed that the game feels more responsive with the new patch in regard to activating abilities (actions that have independent recast times, aka cool downs).

There was always the ability to queue the next skill, but I have no idea if the window for inputting the command has been increased recently. It could also be that they improved something server-side, which is reducing ability delay/lag.

I don't think this is a bug - what they did with this patch is that the "instant" abilities go off more instantly than before (with almost half delay) which in consequence killed the side (and most likely unintentional) effect of "queueing" up and being able to "cancel" such abilities. It's actually a good improvement for WHM and many others.
