Why hasn't this been addressed yet? It's HIGHLY annoying when you finally get into your expert roulette and then get Lost City, and your party splits because it isn't Brayflox HM. Then, another tank comes in, sees it's Lost City and splits. I don't have all night to keep going through this! Address it, please!
And while you're at it, increase the penalty for abandoning to at least two hours. Make it a very significant time to force that person into thinking to just deal with their dungeon and get it over with it.

I actually hate Brayflox. Well, not hate, but I just don't enjoy it as much as the other 2. Its derp bait, so whenever I get Lost City or Halatali HM, as a tank/dps/healer, I'm actually happy with it. Not to mention the Shikaree Doublet also only drops in Halatali HM and Lost City.
People just bail because they immediately assume Lost City and Halatali are gonna be too time consuming, when Brayflox runs the risk of it being even worse because of the derptanks you can wind up with, speedfailing, and constantly wiping. -

I wouldnt queue for it anymore without being able to ditch it.
It happens too often that:
1. its freakin empty
2. only 1 player (dd) is in it
Its way faster to just requeue.
But something they could do:
Add the penalty again once the party is back to full members. -

I agree with OP, people has to understand if they want to run a specific dungeon they can specify it on their Duty Finder, the bonus rewards from Dutty Rulette are for run a random dungeon where you are needed, havin this in mind it makes sence to set a penalty for Dutty Roulette apart from the other Dutty Finder options.
Way to fix this?; An exclusive 2 Hours penalty for people abandoning a Dutty Roulete wich doesnt affect the other Dutty finder options. (30 minutes penalty seems not serious enough for people to consider it). -

As for the lockout penalties, even if you raise it to 8 hours total content suspension (FF14 basically becomes a glorified chat room)/ remove roulette bonus/ strike 10 recommendations off them/ etc. People are still going to leave; why?
1. As Duuude007 pointed out, lockouts? Go to sleep! Play another game! Go out to eat! Actually do real-life work! All these will essentially null your x hours lockout.
2. Most people are doing roulettes simply because they don't want to PF (the reason is usually hate organizing/ laziness/ time killing), lock them out and it's PF Brayflox SR we go! (or real-life)
3. People will never think of daily roulette bonuses as precious (especially the low level roulette's 100 myth), even if you wipe the daily bonus on quitting, people will still quit (100 myth = 15min Brayflox(es) if you 'SR' it with 2 MNKs vs. low level roulette which is around 30 min).
My advice is... make a tank/ healer. It is nearly impossible to fix the problem. Well, apart from removing the whole roulette system. SE's motive was to attract the few kind people to help the others; unfortunately, there are just more jerks around. -

If those jerks as you call them does change habits, good, but thats not the point, these jerks maybe have good reasons to do what they do, maybe not, but thats not the point. The idea is people who play DPS classes dont get punished losing their time becuz some Tank/healer is beign picky. your solution would resume in "lets allow 4 Tanks/healers party be able to clear dungeons without dps so everyone happy", so wrong.Quote:

This way if the person DC'd or wathever other legit reason abandoned dungeon they dont get penalized with cool down timer, but if the tank ditched the group at porpouse then he gets penalized in the way that dutty roulette will always pick that last dungeon for him/her until finish it. worse case scenario these jerks stop using dutty roulete (wich is good), eitherway everyone happy. If you dont want play certain dungeon then dont pick dutty roulete, and just pick the dungeon you are willin to do. no one gets hurts with this method. -

I think it'd be pretty simple that, if you drop from a dungeon that was queued up as a roulette then you give up the ability to gain the bonus rewards for that roulette until next reset (it becomes "completed" without the payout of tomes/gil/seals).
Roulette bonuses are for adventurers in need, not greed and, as others have pointed out, a 2 or 8 hour penalty won't work. Let's face it, most people queue up for roulettes just to get the bonuses and not to be kind hearted and hope that they are able to help a random person out.
Loss of ability to collect the bonus tomes for the day should be well enough, imo.
